Proposal to supplement the planning of the metro line connecting Dong Xoai - Bien Hoa

(DN) - On September 25, at the Scientific Workshop on comments on adjusting the new Dong Nai Province Planning for the period 2021-2030, with a vision to 2050, organized by the Provincial People's Committee in coordination with Ho Chi Minh City University of Economics (UEH), Associate Professor, Dr. Tran Quang Phu, Vice Rector of Ho Chi Minh City University of Transport, proposed adding to Dong Nai Province's planning an urban railway (metro) connecting from Dong Xoai to Bien Hoa.

According to Associate Professor Dr. Tran Quang Phu, the metro line connecting Dong Xoai to Bien Hoa will be combined with the metro lines already in the province's planning connecting to Long Thanh International Airport and Ho Chi Minh City. Thereby, meeting the transportation needs of passengers and goods within Dong Nai province.

Regarding the metro route connecting Dong Xoai to Bien Hoa, Associate Professor, Dr. Tran Quang Phu said: The best option is to combine it with the route of the Project connecting Dong Xoai to Ring Road 4 - Ho Chi Minh City via Provincial Road 753, Ma Da Bridge; the route connecting Ma Da Bridge to Ring Road 4 - Ho Chi Minh City (Provincial Road 761) is being implemented by Dong Nai province for investment procedures.

Regarding the railway system, currently, the province has a North-South railway line with 8 stations. In addition, according to the planning, the province will have high-speed railway lines on the North-South axis with a length of more than 80km, Trang Bom - Hung Hoa railway, Ho Chi Minh City - Loc Ninh railway. In addition, the province will also have metro lines such as: metro connecting metro line No. 1 to Tran Bien, Long Thanh Airport; Thu Thiem - Long Thanh; metro connecting urban areas Bien Hoa - Nhon Trach - Long Thanh - Long Khanh...
