Competition is the driving force for development

Widely deployed from the grassroots, the movement of good farmers and businessmen attracts a large number of members to participate. Every year, the whole province has tens of thousands of households registering to strive to achieve titles at all levels.

The rate of households achieving the title is increasing, spread across many fields: cultivation, animal husbandry, aquaculture and service industries. Many households boldly converted to crops and livestock with high economic value, actively applied scientific and technical advances and linked to the value chain.

Thanks to the conversion of varieties and the application of modern care techniques, the orange growing model of Mr. Hoang Van Khang's family (Na Ri commune) has achieved high productivity, stable quality, bringing in an income of hundreds of millions of dong each year.

On an area of 2 hectares, Mr. Khang's family combines organic orange growing with pig and fish farming to create a closed cycle, both reducing costs and increasing economic value.

In Cho Ra commune, the beekeeping model combined with growing fragrant green squash by more than 20 farming households has brought about remarkable results. Green squash is pollinated by bees, increasing productivity and providing safe, sweet, fragrant honey.

Members of the beekeeping team are trained, guided in techniques and apply scientific advances to improve product quality.

Mr. Hoang Van Dung, a member of the Dia Linh Agricultural and Forestry Cooperative, shared: In addition to production, people also actively promote and introduce products on digital platforms, even recording videos of bee colonies and the honey collection process to attract customers. Thanks to that, the model increases income, creates stable profits and opens up a sustainable development direction for local farmers.

During the past term, the economic development movement launched by the Thai Nguyen Farmers' Association achieved many outstanding results. Over 280,000 member households were recognized as good production and business households at all levels, many concentrated commodity production areas were formed, associated with brand building and OCOP products.

Collective economic models were expanded, with more than 1,300 models being guided to be established and put into effective operation.

Bao Chau Medicinal Herbs Growing and Producing Cooperative (Van Lang Commune) is a typical collective economic model in the highlands, building close production links and creating stable output for many medicinal herb growing households. The cooperative organizes planting and care according to safe processes, signs contracts to purchase products for members and associated households, helping farmers feel secure in production.

Director of the Cooperative Hoang Van Luan shared: The connection between cultivation and processing not only improves economic efficiency, but also affirms the brand of clean and safe medicinal herbs, contributing to promoting sustainable agricultural development in the locality.

Accompanying farmers

Together with the Farmers Support Fund, the Associations at all levels provide credit and accept entrustment with banks to help members access capital to develop production. The total outstanding loan balance of the Farmers Support Fund is over 100 billion VND, revolving to more than 5,000 households, helping to increase income by 10-20%.

Outstanding loans through the Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development reached 1,726 billion VND, with 13,442 borrowing households; credit programs of the Bank for Social Policies reached 2,176 billion VND, with 35,635 borrowing households.

Households use capital for the right purpose and effectively, expand production, increase income and contribute to changing the face of the countryside and improving farmers' lives.

In addition, the Association will coordinate to implement the contents of Resolution 57-NQ/TW, promote the application of science and technology, innovation and digital transformation in agricultural production according to the province's orientation.

Many farmers who are good at production and business not only enrich their families but also share their experiences, support poor households, and spread the spirit of solidarity in the community. The Provincial Farmers' Association has promoted training, technology transfer, capital support from the Farmers' Support Fund, and honoring typical examples to create motivation for competition. The movement has helped thousands of households escape poverty, contributing to changing the countryside and building new rural areas.

In the new period, the movement is oriented towards concentrated, environmentally friendly commodity production, associated with digital transformation and market linkage, affirming the aspiration to get rich legitimately and making practical contributions to the province's sustainable development.
