Garbage collection points do not ensure environmental sanitation.

For about 3 years now, people living near Hung Loi bridge slope (Nguyen Van Linh street, area 1, Tan An ward) have had to live with the stench and flies caused by the household waste collection point under the bridge slope. People have repeatedly reported to the authorities, but the environmental pollution situation here has not improved.

Many garbage trucks gather on Nguyen Van Linh street, emitting a foul smell and not ensuring the urban beauty of the city center.

About 50m from Hung Loi bridge slope is the gathering point of more than 10 small garbage trucks parked on the sidewalk, Nguyen Van Linh street waiting for large garbage trucks to come and take them away for processing. During operation, the garbage gathering point emits an unpleasant odor.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Hieu in Area 1 said: “When the big garbage truck comes in to compact the garbage, the waste water flows onto the street, accompanied by flies, making it look very dirty. Every day, people here live in heavily polluted air. I request that the authorities urgently find a suitable location to collect garbage in the right place, contributing to ensuring the environment, people's health and urban beauty in the city center area.”

Mr. Phan Van Lu, whose house is opposite the garbage collection point under Hung Loi Bridge, complained: “This area has many hotels and food service shops. On hot days or when the wind is strong, the stench from the garbage trucks spreads, making the entire residential area suffocated.” Ms. Nguyen Thi Nga, a resident of Area 1, said indignantly: “My family runs a food service business. When the garbage is collected, the stench spreads, customers are limited in coming to eat, and my family's income has decreased significantly. I request that the local authorities pay attention and soon relocate this garbage collection point so that the air is fresh and people have a better living and business environment.”

In addition, people also reported that after collecting garbage at the collection point, workers parked their vehicles encroaching on the sidewalk and Nguyen Van Linh street. In fact, Nguyen Van Linh street is one of the main routes in the city center, with many vehicles participating in traffic. The units collecting and assembling garbage and parking vehicles encroaching on the lane for motorbikes, making the road narrow, not ensuring safety for traffic participants and workers on duty at the garbage collection point.

The people's frustrations about the environmental pollution at the garbage collection site near Hung Loi bridge slope have lasted for many years. The people requested the local government and relevant agencies to urgently take action to review and resolve the issue soon so that the collection of household waste is effective, ensuring the environment, urban beauty and people's health.
