Weekly Highlights: iPhone 17 Launched, The World Has Its First AI Minister

(Dan Tri) - Last week's notable technology news included Apple introducing the iPhone 17 series, the world having its first AI Minister, and Elon Musk being surpassed.

Apple introduces new iPhone series

At 0:00 on September 10, Apple announced the all-new iPhone 17 generation. Accordingly, the price of iPhone 17 starts from 25 million VND for the 256GB version. iPhone Air is priced from 32 million VND for the 256GB version.

The iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max duo start at VND 35 million and VND 38 million. This year, the iPhone 17 Pro Max also has a 2TB memory version for the first time, priced at VND 64 million. This is also the highest selling price Apple has ever set for an iPhone.

The new iPhone series will be available in the Vietnamese market from 8am on September 19. In addition, Apple also introduced AirPods Pro 3 headphones, Apple Watch Series 11 and Apple Watch Ultra 3 smartwatches.

The world's first AI minister

Prime Minister Edi Rama introduced Diella, a unique "Minister of AI", which means "Sun" in Albanian.

Diella appears as a woman dressed in traditional dress, marking a bold step by Albania in applying artificial intelligence to state management.

Before being appointed to the position of “Minister”, Diella debuted earlier this year as an AI virtual assistant on the e-Albania platform. This chatbot supports citizens and businesses in accessing state documents through voice commands and issuing documents with electronic stamps, contributing to significantly reducing delays in administrative procedures.

Automation Center in Ho Chi Minh City

Vietnam Automation Center of Excellence (ACE) is the first model in the South of Vietnam built to support manufacturing enterprises in accessing, testing, and deploying automation and artificial intelligence solutions into actual operations.

ACE was launched in the context of Vietnam entering a period of accelerating digital transformation, innovation and core technology development. This center is considered one of the first "bricks" to realize automation solutions, AI and smart manufacturing in industrial life.

Statue of Bitcoin's "father" appears in Vietnam

On the afternoon of September 9, the Vietnam Blockchain and Digital Assets Association (VBA) launched the Blockchain Gallery and the 5th Satoshi Statue in the world. The Satoshi Statue announced by VBA is the “vanishing” version, designed by Italian artist Valentina Picozzi.

The statue has a unique disappearing effect when viewed from side to front, similar to how Satoshi Nakamoto completely disappeared after building the Bitcoin network and giving power back to the global community.

Valentina spent 21 months designing and testing this version so that the piece could fully convey the spirit and decentralized culture of Bitcoin.

Elon Musk was surpassed

Last week, Elon Musk unexpectedly lost the position of "world's richest person" to the co-founder of software company Oracle when Larry Ellison's assets skyrocketed by another 89 billion USD, to 383.2 billion USD.

Larry Ellison's fortune soared after Oracle's earnings report was released. The report showed the company made an impressive profit, pushing its stock price up 43%. This was the biggest one-day increase since Oracle went public in 1992.

Ellison, co-founder and largest shareholder at Oracle, has benefited from the company's soaring stock price.

Acer enters Vietnam's smart home appliance market

On September 13, the smart home appliance brand Acerpure launched in the Vietnamese market. The company also announced a series of new products such as air purifiers, water purifiers, and air convection fans.

In the coming time, Acerpure will continue to expand its product portfolio in Vietnam with personal care and kitchen appliances, aiming to create a comprehensive ecosystem to serve the lives of Vietnamese consumers.
