Taylor Swift's “The Life of a Showgirl” sets a series of sales records

Just 24 hours after its release, Taylor Swift's album “The Life of a Showgirl” created a real earthquake in the global music industry.

According to data from analytics firm Luminate, the 34-year-old singer's 12th studio album sold 2.7 million copies on its first day in the US - an unprecedented number in the modern era, including both digital and physical sales.

With this record, Taylor Swift not only surpassed all competitors, but also broke her own record. Last year, her album “ The Tortured Poets Department” was praised as a “sales phenomenon” when it sold 2.61 million copies in its first week.

Now, “The Life of a Showgirl” needs just one day to surpass that number, affirming Swift's unique position in the history of popular music.

Despite only being released for one day, this album has become the second-best-selling album of all time since Luminate began keeping records in 1991, behind only Adele's "25" (3.378 million copies in the first week in 2015).

However, with the current growth momentum, experts believe that Swift can equal or even surpass that "untouchable" record this week.

Not stopping there, “The Life of a Showgirl” also shattered all vinyl sales records, with 1.2 million copies sold in just the first 24 hours – breaking her own previous record of 859,000 copies with “The Tortured Poets Department.”

In the era of digital music, this achievement is seen as a testament to the timeless influence of Taylor Swift – a rare artist who can bring back the world of music collection.

Analysts say a large part of Taylor Swift’s success comes from her calculated multi-version release strategy. Retail chain Target launched three exclusive CD versions titled “It’s Frightening” , “It’s Rapturous” and “It’s Beautiful” , while a special pink vinyl version of “The Crowd Is Your King” quickly “sold out” globally.

Swift also cleverly tapped into fans' collecting psychology by releasing additional vinyl collections with different cover designs such as "The Tiny Bubble in Champagne Collection" , "The Shiny Bug Collection" or "The Baby That's Show Business Collection."

Not stopping there, just one day after the album's release, Swift suddenly released four new acoustic CD versions, each containing two different rustic mixes - a smart move that caused fans around the world to rush to collect the entire set, pushing sales to record levels.

The popularity of “The Life of a Showgirl” has even spread to the film industry. The event film “The Official Release Party of a Showgirl” – which was released in a limited three-day release – became the champion of the North American box office last weekend with a revenue of 33 million USD, according to statistics from Comscore.

That means Taylor Swift is dominating both the music charts and the box office at the same time, something that almost no solo artist has ever achieved before./.
