This morning (September 12), the opening ceremony of the 8th International Conference of the UNESCO Global Geoparks Network in Asia - Pacific in 2024 took place in Cao Bang city, Cao Bang province. On the sidelines of the conference was the opening ceremony of the exhibition space displaying products about the culture and people of Cao Bang province, which attracted the attention of many international delegates.

At the event, reporters from the Industry and Trade Newspaper had the opportunity to interview a number of delegates from many international delegations of UNESCO. All delegates gave "winged" compliments to the Conference in particular, and to the country and people of Vietnam in general.

Mr. Tom Dean, a member of the Australian delegation, affirmed that the Conference was an eye-opening opportunity and a visual delight. Mr. Tom Dean shared that Vietnamese culture, to him, is extremely wonderful, colorful and full of affection.

Brustian, a member of the Thai delegation of French and Moroccan descent, said: “The conference was wonderfully organized, the food was delicious and the people were extremely friendly.” He was impressed by the traditional Vietnamese pastries.

At the stall, Brustian was also introduced to green tea products by the seller. As a tea lover, he bought the products as gifts for friends and relatives.

Mr. Artusia, a member of the Portuguese delegation, said that the Conference was a great and successful effort from the organizers. As a member of the UNESCO Scientific Council, he highly appreciated the practical value of the specimens that Vietnam sent, thanks to which the Geopark Network can develop and grow stronger.

Sharing his thoughts about Vietnam, Mr. Artusia said: “Vietnam is a great country. This is my fourth time here. Vietnamese people are also wonderful, they know how to give, they know how to receive. When I am in Vietnam, I feel like I am at home.”

Mr. Artusia also expressed his joy when receiving a gift of a box of San Tuyet tea. He was very eager to enjoy the tea when he returned home, as it would be a gift that reminded him of Vietnam.

Ms. Joanna Wilson, a member of the delegation of Hinne Kashioshidai Geopark of Japan, shared that the Conference was a great opportunity for her delegation to learn from experience and make friends from around the world. This was also the second time Ms. Joanna Wilson had come to Vietnam and for her, Vietnam is a wonderful country.

As a partner of Dong Van Geopark, Joanna Wilson was very excited to receive gifts of tea, coffee and a brocade bag. According to Joanna, these gifts are special in their own way and are evidence of the friendship between the two Geoparks in general, and between Vietnam and Japan in particular.

Mr. Yudi, a member of the Indonesian delegation, has only been in Vietnam for 1 day, so he has not had a chance to learn more about Vietnam. However, he was very impressed by the coffee and is eager to try Vietnamese pho in the coming days.
