Vietnamese delegation attends the Army-2024 International Military Technical Forum in Russia

According to a VNA reporter in the Russian Federation, on August 12, at the Patriot Exhibition and Conference Center in the suburbs of Moscow, the opening ceremony of the Army-2024 International Military Technical Forum and exhibition took place.

The Army-2024 forum event will take place over three days from August 12 to 14.

The Army-2024 forum is attended by official military delegations from 83 countries, with 39 delegations led by defense ministers and chiefs of the general staff.

A high-ranking delegation of the Vietnamese Ministry of National Defense led by Minister, General Phan Van Giang attended the forum at the invitation of Russian Defense Minister Andrey Removich Belousov.

In addition, more than 1,000 domestic and foreign enterprises and organizations will introduce more than 20,000 military and dual-purpose products in the form of actual samples, models and promotional and informational materials at the forum.

Russian President Vladimir Putin sent a video message welcoming the forum. The Russian President stressed that Army-2024 is a symbolic international military-technical forum and this is the 10th time the event has been held.

The event has always attracted a growing interest from experts, scholars and media from all over the world. Its wide international coverage, open dialogue and rich business program are the forum's best traditions.

The Russian side always appreciates the interest and cooperative relationship of the partners attending the forum, and is ready to promote cooperation to jointly create equal and indivisible security and build a new, fairer multipolar world.

For his part, speaking at the opening ceremony, Russian Defense Minister Andrey Belousov emphasized that the Army-2024 program focuses on discussing new forms of armed struggle and measures for the industry to adapt to meeting the needs of the army.

According to Minister Belousov, for the first time at the forum will be displayed products of the “people's defense industry,” which are products produced by people, labor collectives, and small and medium-sized enterprises, stemming from practical needs.

Mr. Belousov believes that the forum will contribute to implementing breakthrough ideas in the defense field and expanding military-technical cooperation with international partners.

Army-2024 has completely changed the organization format compared to previous forums, no longer a performance event but focusing mainly on domestic and foreign experts and businesses.

At the exhibition booths of the forum, there will be on display samples of weapons and special military equipment that have proven effective in practice such as BMP-2M infantry fighting vehicles, T-90M Proryv main battle tanks, T-90M 80BVM, BREM-1M repair and recovery armored vehicles, Phlox 120mm self-propelled guns, Malva 152mm self-propelled guns, Bastion coastal missile systems, Iskander-M operational-tactical missiles, Tornado-S 300mm multiple launch rocket systems, TOS-2 heavy flamethrower systems, remote-operated engineering systems, Kornet-D1 self-propelled anti-tank missile systems, Tor-M2K air defense missile combat vehicle systems, anti-tank vehicles, Pantsir-S artillery and aircraft missile systems, and Gibka-S air defense missile system combat vehicles.

In particular, many potential weapons and equipment models were displayed for the first time at Army-2024, such as the Meerkat wearable electronic warfare system to counter drones, the upgraded Supercam S350M reconnaissance drone, the Amur 950 non-nuclear ocean submarine with vertical missile launchers, etc.

After the opening ceremony, General Phan Van Giang and members of the delegation visited the booths at Army-2024.

At each booth, General Phan Van Giang and the delegation spent time learning about the products on display, exchanging relevant information, and welcoming and appreciating the participation of units and businesses at this event.

Army is a comprehensive exhibition and forum organized annually by the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation since 2015 at the Patriot Exhibition and Convention Center on the outskirts of Moscow, attracting many countries, businesses and defense industry organizations to participate and display and introduce defense products.

The forum is one of the largest international exhibitions of weapons and technical equipment in the world.

The forum includes an exhibition of advanced products of the Russian defense industry and partner countries; field demonstrations of weapons and technical equipment of the Army, Navy and Air Force of the Russian Federation and partner countries; applied scientific seminars on military technology and defense industry.../.
