According to Mr. Tran Duc Nhat, Chairman of Tan Lap Ward People's Committee, this model was born from the actual needs of local people. He realized that the lack of information, lack of technology skills and confusion when carrying out online procedures are major barriers for people. "We built such a multi-utility space to better serve people, while promoting the digital transformation process in the area. This is not just a utility but the first step of a smart public service station associated with digital transformation, contributing to spreading the habit of using technology to people," said Mr. Nhat.

The Community Bookcase and Smart Information Station model is a multi-functional, integrated utility service complex, including: bookcase - information station - digital utility kiosk, designed to address the diverse needs of people right at the Ward Public Administration Service Center.

The bookshelf has about 100 different books, serving the people's need to learn about law, life skills, health care, local tourism ... and is updated periodically to ensure rich content, suitable for many ages.

Notably, the Smart Information Station was deployed to support people in accessing basic technological utilities such as: free wifi, administrative procedure lookup, digital maps, leaflets guiding online public services, QR codes connecting useful applications... This is the first step in the process of building a community digital transformation service point right at the administrative headquarters.

A small but extremely practical utility of the Community Bookcase and Smart Information Station model is the free phone charging station that helps people charge their batteries while waiting to complete administrative procedures, ensuring that communication and use of necessary applications are not interrupted.

Mr. Pham Thanh Nghia, an expert from the Office of the People's Council - People's Committee of the ward, said that the model will create an open, friendly space, while supporting people to access basic technology utilities conveniently. Although artificial intelligence has not been integrated at the present stage, the model has been oriented to upgrade in the future to apply high technology, gradually developing into a mini smart public service station, supporting digital interaction between people and the government in a convenient, transparent and effective way.

The model has received positive feedback from the people and is considered a breakthrough, demonstrating the determination of the local government in building a modern, service-oriented administration. Ms. Nguyen Thi To Hang, a resident of Tan Lap ward, expressed: “Currently, when I go to the ward to do paperwork, I find it convenient and useful because there are books to read, wifi to use, phone charging stations and free drinking water. While waiting to do administrative procedures, I can grasp a lot of useful information. This is a very practical initiative.”
