Attending the conference were member of the City Party Committee, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Hue City People's Committee Nguyen Thanh Binh, along with representatives of the Police, Military Command, City Border Guard Command and a large number of officers, soldiers and people of border communes.

Signing of coordination regulations between forces in the prevention and fight against drug crimes in the Vietnam - Laos border area

The report at the conference showed that the drug situation in the border area still has many potential complex risks, especially in the old A Luoi district. In response to this reality, the City Police have issued a plan to synchronously deploy solutions to build a strategy to prevent and combat crime and drug abuse on the border.

The goal is to have at least 30% of communes and wards meet the “drug-free” standard by 2025 and 100% by 2030. This is not only a security and order target but also an important political commitment, demonstrating the determination of the entire political system in building a safe and healthy locality, creating a foundation for sustainable development.

According to the plan, an inter-sectoral coordination working group will be established, with the participation of the Police, Border Guard Command, Customs, border commune authorities and grassroots security forces. The working group is responsible for developing coordination regulations, deploying patrols, controls, and ambushes at routes and hotspots, promptly detecting and handling drug-related law violations.

Also at the conference, the coordination regulations between forces in the work of preventing and combating drug crimes in the Vietnam - Laos border area were signed and the "Peaceful Border" model was announced. The conference proposed a mechanism for close coordination between functional forces. The goal of the model is to prevent the source of smuggled drugs from across the border, promote the role of the community in monitoring, detecting and denouncing crimes, and at the same time link drug prevention and combat work with socio-economic development.

Coordination between propaganda forces in the work of preventing and combating drug-related crimes

Speaking at the conference, Permanent Vice Chairman of Hue City People's Committee Nguyen Thanh Binh emphasized: "Ensuring security and order is the responsibility of the entire political system and the entire population, in which the police force plays a core role. Party committees and authorities of border communes must clearly define responsibilities, assign specific tasks, and link responsibility to results. At the same time, they must regularly monitor, inspect, and urge to ensure progress and effectiveness."

Vice Chairman Nguyen Thanh Binh affirmed: “The name 'Peaceful Border' has expressed the goal of bringing peace to the people, to each village and to the entire border. For the model to be successful, there needs to be a specific program of activities, guaranteed resources, clear results and recognition from the Party Committee, the government and the people. Therefore, the forces need to coordinate synchronously, smoothly and responsibly. It is possible to consider establishing a permanent interdisciplinary force to monitor, guide, inspect, urge and effectively combat the drug crime situation in the area.

On the same day, Standing Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee Nguyen Thanh Binh inspected the construction sites of the primary and secondary boarding school in A Luoi 3 and A Luoi 4 communes.
