Vietnam team firmly holds the number 1 position in Southeast Asia, Thailand ranks 2nd

The Vietnam team closed 2023 with the No. 1 position in Southeast Asia and No. 15 in Asia according to the recently announced FIFA rankings.

The International Federation of Association Football (FIFA) has just announced the rankings of men's national teams in December 2023, which is also the ranking that ends this year.

In December, the Vietnamese team did not play any matches, so there was no change in the score. Therefore, the "Golden Star Warriors" ended 2023 in 94th place in the world.

Coach Philippe Troussier and his team continue to lead Southeast Asia and rank 15th in Asia.

The Thai team ranked 2nd in Southeast Asia (ranked 113). The Malaysian team ranked 3rd in the region, maintaining the FIFA ranking of 130.

Compared to the previous update in November, the FIFA rankings have only two changes: Colombia surpassing Mexico to rank 14th and the position of the Solomon Islands team.

Leading Asia is still the Japanese team (ranked 17th), followed by Iran (ranked 21st), South Korea (ranked 23rd), Australia (ranked 25th), Saudi Arabia (ranked 56th)...

Meanwhile, reigning World Cup champions Argentina reign at the top of the FIFA rankings in 2023. The next positions in the top 10 are France, England, Belgium, Brazil, the Netherlands, Portugal, Spain, Italy and Croatia.
