Accordingly, the draft new Circular on Regulations on High School Graduation Exams from 2025 has notable new points such as: shortening the exam time from the current 04 exam sessions to 03 exam sessions.
Regarding the exam subjects, the exam questions as announced in the High School Graduation Exam Plan from 2025 will add the subjects of Information Technology and Technology (Industry, Agriculture ), these are the subjects that will be held for the first time in the Exam. Add some new types of exam questions for multiple-choice subjects (previously there was only 01 type of multiple-choice question). At the same time, increase the differentiation of the exam questions for all subjects to achieve the goals of the Exam as announced in the Exam Plan.
In the high school graduation exam, the application of information technology and digital transformation will also be strengthened in the organization of the exam, notably: All exam participants can register for the exam online (in the previous stage, independent candidates had to submit their application in person), verify personal information and prioritize exam points through a digital database. The transmission of exam questions (digitalization) has a new method through the system of the Government Cipher Committee, ensuring speed, security, saving time and costs.
Regarding the organization of exam sites and rooms: Arrange exam sites and rooms according to the principle of maximum support for candidates so that they do not have to move exam rooms. Specifically, allow students from nearby educational institutions to mix to organize convenient exam sites for candidates. Candidates only take the exam in a single exam room during the entire exam period. Priority is given to arranging the same exam of 2 elective subjects.
The recognition of high school graduation will be in the direction of: Increasing the rate of using learning assessment results in grades 10, 11 and 12 to 50% (previously 30% and only using grade 12 results) with the aim of comprehensively assessing the abilities of students studying according to the 2018 General Education Program and increasing the effectiveness of achieving many goals of the Exam as announced. Candidates with foreign language certificates that meet the regulations are exempted from the Foreign Language exam but not converted into 10 points in the graduation recognition consideration as currently regulated.
Also according to the draft, additional regulations are added to pilot computer-based exams when conditions are met according to the roadmap as announced in the Exam Plan, gradually piloting from 2027 and when conditions are met, mass deployment after 2030.
Regarding candidates confirming admission on the General Admission Support System, the Ministry of Education and Training has just announced that it will continue to open the Admission Confirmation System for the first round of 2024 until 5:00 p.m. on August 31, 2024.
Specifically, according to the 2024 Enrollment Plan, 5:00 p.m. on August 27, 2024 is the deadline for candidates to confirm their enrollment on the General Enrollment Support System (System). However, through feedback from training institutions and candidates, there are currently a number of candidates who, when enrolling directly at the school, discovered that they had NOT confirmed their enrollment on the System.
To facilitate candidates, the Ministry of Education and Training announces that it will continue to open the System for candidates to complete admission confirmation procedures BEFORE 5:00 p.m. on August 31, 2024.
