Plan to reclaim more than 250 hectares of land for the project

(NLDO) - 5/14 projects requiring land recovery were approved according to the previous list of projects requiring land recovery, but after more than 2 years there has been no decision to recover the land.

The Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee has just submitted a document to the Ho Chi Minh City People's Council on approving the list of works and projects to reclaim land for socio -economic development for national and public interests in the city.

Ho Chi Minh City plans to reclaim more than 250 hectares of land to promptly implement projects serving socio-economic development and urban beautification.

This is to promptly implement works and projects that require land acquisition according to the provisions of the Land Law, meeting the socio-economic development needs of the locality, on the basis of reviewing projects with investment policies and assigned capital plans to ensure feasibility.

Accordingly, 9 projects and works must reclaim newly registered land with a total reclaimed land area of ​​234.7 hectares.

5 projects and works that must be recovered have been approved according to the list of projects requiring land recovery in the Resolutions of the HCM City People's Council, but after 2 years there has been no decision to recover the land. Now, the land recovery continues with an area of ​​more than 18 hectares.

Through review, the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee found that the above projects have sufficient legal documents to be implemented in 2025, therefore, it proposed to continue submitting these projects to the Ho Chi Minh City People's Council for approval. These are public works and projects, serving the necessary needs of the locality in the process of socio-economic development, serving urban development and embellishment.

Specifically, these projects have had a Resolution of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Council on project investment policy; a decision on the 2024 plan assignment. At the same time, these projects are still continuing to carry out the next steps to complete the procedures for land recovery, land allocation - lease, and land use purpose conversion according to regulations.

The Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee also clearly presented the situation of two projects: investment in the construction of the Ho Chi Minh City - Moc Bai expressway and the project to invest in the construction of technical infrastructure for the resettlement area serving the investment project to build the Ho Chi Minh City - Moc Bai expressway and other public projects in Pham Van Coi commune, Cu Chi district.

Accordingly, the Department of Finance will advise and submit to the Ho Chi Minh City People's Council for approval of the investment policy and assignment of public investment capital plan for the two projects at the same time at the March 2025 meeting (at the same time as submitting the land acquisition list).
