On the afternoon of September 22 in Hanoi, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism held a press conference to introduce the Vietnam Tourism Awards 2025.
After a 5-year hiatus due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the Vietnam Tourism Awards were held again to honor and encourage the efforts of businesses and units operating in the tourism sector that have successfully overcome difficulties in the volatile economic situation in recent years.
According to the organizers, after the Covid-19 pandemic, Vietnam's tourism industry has had a spectacular recovery, completing and exceeding planned targets.

Vietnam is also assessed by the ASEAN Secretariat as the tourist destination with the highest recovery in the ASEAN region at 98% compared to before the pandemic. According to the assessment of the United Nations Tourism Organization (UN Tourism) in the first 6 months of this year, Vietnam tourism has the world's leading international tourist growth rate of 21%.
In the first 8 months of the year, Vietnam tourism welcomed nearly 14 million international visitors (up 21.7% over the same period in 2024), serving about 106 million domestic tourists, with total tourism revenue reaching about 707,000 billion VND.
The Vietnam Tourism Awards contribute to the goal of developing Vietnam tourism sustainably, thereby promoting the economy, encouraging investment, innovation, empowering the community, protecting natural resources and spreading cultural and social values, enhancing the promotion of the image of Vietnam as a friendly, safe and attractive destination.
"The selection of award-winning units is conducted seriously, objectively and impartially, through the Award Council consisting of representatives of state management agencies, professional associations and industry experts.
The evaluation criteria are specifically and transparently developed; the list of candidates is strictly assessed and selected from the most typical and promising units, with outstanding contributions to the development of Vietnam tourism," said Mr. Ha Van Sieu, Deputy Director of the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism.
The Vietnam Tourism Awards 2025 will honor businesses and units operating in the tourism sector in 11 award categories with 18 titles related to travel, accommodation, passenger transportation, food services, community destinations, golf courses, spas, creative tourism products, communications...
Responding to press questions about the Vietnam Tourism Awards 2025, Mr. Nguyen Trung Khanh - Director of the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism - said that the award consideration does not discriminate based on the size of the businesses.

"In the award categories, there are many criteria suitable for small-scale businesses such as: Restaurants, community tourism facilities, creative tourism products, green tourism... These criteria are not only for large businesses but also the strengths of small and medium-sized businesses," Mr. Khanh emphasized.
Keeping up with the trend of developing green and sustainable tourism in Vietnam and around the world, factors related to environmental protection are also incorporated by the organizers into the evaluation criteria in many categories such as: Encouraging the use of environmentally friendly materials, avoiding the use of disposable materials, limiting emissions and waste...
"Among the 18 titles, the Top 10 best green hotels will contribute to honoring accommodation establishments that protect the environment, save energy, and contribute to sustainable development," emphasized the Director of the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism.
Up to now, the Vietnam Tourism Awards has received 209 applications from businesses. Based on the project and criteria of the award, the Organizing Committee will select 115 applications in 11 categories.
The Vietnam Tourism Awards 2025 ceremony took place on September 27 at Vin Palace Co Loa Convention Center, Dong Anh, Hanoi.
