Erling Haaland equals C.Ronaldo's super record

(Dan Tri) - With his goal against Villarreal in the Champions League last night, Haaland equaled C.Ronaldo's record of scoring in 12 consecutive matches.

Last night, Man City won 2-0 at Villarreal in the third round of the Champions League group stage. Haaland continued to impress when he contributed the opening goal. The remaining goal of Man “Blue” was made by Bernardo Silva.

Notably, Haaland scored his 24th goal for Man City this season. This is the 4th consecutive match the Norwegian star has scored in the Champions League. In Man City alone, Haaland has scored in 9 consecutive matches, just one match short of equaling his personal record for the longest scoring streak under Pep Guardiola (10 matches, from August to October 2022).

Including the national team, this 25-year-old player has scored in 12 consecutive matches, equaling the record set by C. Ronaldo when he was playing for Real Madrid in 2018.

Haaland’s season began with a brace in a 4-0 win over Wolves in the opening round of the Premier League, but he was then left scoreless in the defeat to Tottenham. Since then, the Norwegian has been a “tornado of destruction”, scoring 22 goals in his next 12 games.

Haaland's run of form began with a goal against Brighton, then exploded when he scored six goals for Norway in two international matches in September.

The striker born in 2000 continued to amaze fans with a double in the Manchester derby against Man Utd, then "sowed sorrow" for Arsenal, Burnley, Brentford and Everton. On the international stage, Haaland also scored a hat-trick against Israel in October.

In the Champions League, Haaland scored four goals in three matches against Napoli, Monaco and Villarreal.

Speaking to Sky Sports after the match against Brentford on October 5, Haaland revealed the secret behind his excellent form: “I have never felt better than I do now. It all starts with preparation, not just physically but mentally. Since becoming a father, I have taken my mind off football more. When I get home, I don’t think about the games, I just relax.

Before, I used to think and worry too much. Now it's different, I'm calmer, enjoying life more. I have to thank my son for that."
