Meta is accelerating its “ video -ification” of Facebook strategy with a series of major updates. The most prominent feature is the “friend bubbles” feature, which displays small bubbles indicating which Reels videos friends have liked.
Users can tap on the bubble to instantly open a chat box and discuss the video they just watched. Meta said the feature is aimed at restoring the spirit of connection between friends that made Facebook successful.
The content recommendation algorithm has also been improved, making Reels appear faster and more accurately to viewer preferences. According to Meta, the time people spend watching videos on Facebook has increased by more than 20% over the past year. Soon, all videos on the platform will be converted to Reels format for a consistent experience.
CEO Mark Zuckerberg stressed that “video” is an important step to bring Facebook back to its golden age. Dear readers, please watch more videos: From January 1, 2026, digital products created by AI must have identification marks | Nhan Dan Newspaper
