While Samsung doesn't typically equip the Galaxy S series with cutting-edge features right away, the iPhone 17 Pro's display superiority is why the company is changing that with the upcoming Galaxy S26 Ultra.

Galaxy S26 Ultra will have 'best smartphone display'
According to information from famous leaker Ice Universe, the Galaxy S26 Ultra will have a 6.89-inch screen, equivalent to the size of the Galaxy S25 Ultra. Although the size has not changed much, Ice Universe said that the screen will bring "surprises". Although he did not reveal specific details, he confirmed that the phone will be equipped with Samsung's advanced screen technologies, which may include Flex Magic Pixel and Color Filter on Encapsulation (CoE).
Flex Magic Pixel technology promises to use artificial intelligence (AI) to improve viewing angles and protect user privacy. Meanwhile, CoE will help display more accurate blacks, improve outdoor visibility, increase brightness and reduce power consumption. CoE is a technology that has been previously applied to the Galaxy Z Fold series.
Trend of comparing iPhone 17 price with gold, milk can, pho bowl: Is investing tens of millions worth it?
Additionally, the Galaxy S26 Ultra is expected to be thinner than its predecessor, the Galaxy S25 Ultra, and feature more curved corners. Three of the phone's four rear cameras will be upgraded, while the 50MP telephoto sensor will appear for the fourth consecutive year. The phone will also likely have a large camera bump and retain the same 5,000mAh battery.
With the iPhone 17 Pro creating a lot of buzz ahead of its launch, Samsung will need to work harder to make the Galaxy S26 Ultra compete with other flagships in 2025. Interest in the Galaxy S26 Ultra is growing, which shows that users are looking forward to new innovations from Samsung.
