Responding to storm No. 10: 100% of ships and boats have entered safe shelters

Particularly in Cua Viet commune, on the morning of September 28, two ships with the registration numbers BV 4670-TS and BV 0042-TS residing in Vung Tau ward, Ho Chi Minh City with 11 crew members were in an accident when entering Cua Viet inlet to take shelter from the storm, about 1.5km from shore. The functional forces are actively coordinating the rescue.

To proactively avoid landslides and flooding, 291 households and 1,402 people in the communes of My Thuy, Ba Long, La Lay, Phong Nha, Phu Trach, Nam Dong Ha ward and Con Co special zone have been evacuated to safety.

Up to now, reservoirs in the province are operating safely with the total capacity of irrigation reservoirs managed by the Irrigation Works Exploitation Company Limited reaching about 78.31% of the design capacity.

Regarding the situation of riverbank and coastal erosion, the whole province has 2 landslide points on Kien Giang river through Loc Thuong village (old An Thuy commune) about 30m and Vinh Dinh river bank on Xuan-Quy-Vinh road through Lam Thuy and Kinh Duy villages about more than 300m. The flooded and isolated points include: In Dakrong commune, the spillway bridge at km28, Ly Ton village is flooded 0.5m deep; Phong Nha commune, the road from Trooc to Chay Lap (old Phuc Trach) is cut off due to 60cm of water, about 20-30m long; Kim Phu commune, Ben Seeng spillway, Yen Tho village 3, 4 tunnel, Ben Mai tunnel, Tien Phong village, Quyen tunnel, Phu Nhieu tunnel are now flooded and isolated; Tuyen Lam commune, Ban Chuoi spillway bridge is flooded about 80cm deep, causing local isolation of 17 households with 89 people; Ba Long commune was flooded and isolated at 4 points, including: Ba Long spillway bridge was flooded 1.2m, Khe Vo Ngoai bridge was flooded 0.8m, Ta Lang Ngoai bridge was flooded 1.2m, Tran bridge in village 5 was flooded 1m; Huong Lap commune, A Xoc-Cha Ly spillway bridge was flooded 0.5m deep; Lay Lay commune, the spillway bridges on the road from Ta Rut to A Vao, the intersection of Ho Chi Minh Road to La Lay were flooded 50cm; A Vao commune, Ta Rut spillway bridge to A Vao, A Vao spillway bridge to La Lay, spillway bridge from A Vao village to Tan Di 2 village were flooded, the water level was from 50 to 80cm from the bridge surface; Tuyen Lam commune, the inter-village road from Bac Son to Thanh Lang was flooded about 1m deep; Huong Lap commune, A Xoc-Cha Ly spillway bridge was flooded 0.5m, making traffic difficult.

In addition, on National Highway 15D at Dakrong spillway bridge/Km0+307, the water level is 1.8m deep; La Hot spillway bridge/Km1+094 is 0.2m deep. Provincial Road 571 at Km9+450 is 0.3-0.4m deep. National Highway 49C section Km18+700-Km18+800 is 5-10cm deep. National Highway 9B at 2 underground spillway locations Km41+900, Km43+700 is 0.3-0.4m deep, causing traffic jams.

Statistics as of noon on September 28 showed that the roofs of 6 houses in My Thuy commune in the whole province were blown off. In Cua Tung commune, 1 hectare of extensive shrimp pond in Di Loan village, 3.5 hectares of whiteleg shrimp pond, 1 hectare of stingray pond in Tan Trai village, and 3.3 hectares of shrimp pond in Co My village were flooded.
