On September 20, Vinh Long University of Technical Education (VLUTE) organized an international conference on machinery, energy and digitalization towards sustainable development (IMEDS 2025). In his opening speech, Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Thanh Tung, Rector of VLUTE, said that sustainable development is now a global goal to improve human life and protect the environment from increasingly serious pollution. The conference aims to explore and ensure understanding of important aspects of sustainable development, especially machinery, energy, solutions and digitalization for sustainable development in various fields.
"From these insights, the workshop aims at a comprehensive approach to support policymakers, industries and researchers at different levels in positioning scientific and technological development, innovation, and digital transformation appropriate to local conditions towards sustainable development adapting to the general changing context of the world," said Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Thanh Tung.

IMEDS 2025 has special significance as it is held for the first time in Vinh Long , jointly organized by VASE and VLUTE. The conference brings together hundreds of scientists, researchers, policy makers, industry experts, students and practitioners from within and outside the country.
The conference took place in the context of the strong implementation of Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW of the Politburo on science, technology development, innovation and digital transformation, along with resolutions of the Government and Vinh Long province on digital transformation.
The conference had 4 main discussion sessions by 4 scientists from Canada, Korea, Japan, Indonesia and nearly 200 papers presented live. In addition, there were poster reports on topics of mechanics, automobiles, automation, electronics, precision machining, energy, digitalization, artificial intelligence, information technology, new materials... reflecting the necessary needs of the industrialization - modernization and digital transformation process.
