Nearly 800 children were screened for congenital heart disease.

With the support of doctors from the National Children's Hospital and Ha Giang General Hospital, after 2 days of implementation (August 2-3), the congenital heart screening program screened nearly 800 children under 18 years old.

Doctor Nguyen Ly Thinh Truong, Director of the Cardiovascular Center, National Children's Hospital, examined and read the results for the child.

Screening results showed that there were 22 cases of children with congenital heart defects. Of these, 10 cases were indicated to need early intervention or surgery; the other 11 cases needed further intensive monitoring. It is expected that the total cost of treatment support for these cases will be up to 500 million VND.

The program not only contributes to early detection of dangerous cardiovascular diseases in children, but also helps reduce the burden of treatment costs for families in difficult circumstances.
