To date, 2,488/2,744 km of the main route and about 258 km of the branch route have been completed, with the remaining 256 km under construction. The Cho Chu - Trung Son Intersection project is about 28.98 km long, passing through Thai Nguyen and Tuyen Quang provinces, built according to the standards of a grade III mountainous road, with a design speed of 60 km/h and a scale of 2 lanes. The total investment is about 1,665 billion VND from the State budget, expected to be completed in 2025. Of which, the section passing through the communes of Hung Loi and Trung Son (Yen Son) is 17.1 km long, with a total expected recovered area of 67.12 hectares.

Currently, at the construction site, contractors are focusing on mobilizing machinery and human resources to speed up the work of leveling and filling the roadbed, while simultaneously constructing bridge items on the route, striving to ensure quality and progress as required.

According to the report of the Project Management Board, the site clearance work has achieved positive results, in which 99% of the compensation costs have been paid, and 2 resettlement areas are being urgently built. However, the site clearance costs have increased by nearly 90 billion VND compared to the total approved amount. The locality has proposed the Ministry of Construction and the Ho Chi Minh Road Project Management Board to consider and make additional adjustments to ensure the overall progress.
