Sustainable 4F bio-safe livestock farming model
According to information from the Agriculture and Environment newspaper, the model "4F Biosafety Livestock Complex" in Hue City is supporting pig farmers to improve economic efficiency, prevent diseases and protect the environment.
In 2020, Que Lam Group introduced the project "4F Biosafety Livestock Complex" (Farm-Food-Feed-Fertilizer) in Phong Thu commune (now Phong Dien ward, Hue city) with an area of up to 15 hectares. Of which, the 4F biosafety and organic livestock area occupies 2 hectares, including 3 rows of barns with an area of 3,600 m² each. To date, the farm has expanded in scale with 100 sows and 2,200 breeding pigs and porkers.
The farm applies automatic technology in the breeding process, with open barn design, creating comfortable natural conditions and improved in the style of "warm in winter, cool in summer". About 75% of each barn area is equipped with biological bedding, along with automatic feeding and drinking trough systems. Feed and drinking water for pigs are supplemented with probiotics, helping to improve feed consumption efficiency and enhance immunity, while fighting against pathogenic microorganisms.
Thanks to that, livestock grow healthily, have less diseases, grow fast and have high quality meat. The misting system on the roof of the barn not only helps cool and prevent heat shock but also sprays biological products to protect both pigs and barns from the invasion of pathogenic microorganisms.
In particular, in this 4F pig farming model, all waste and by-products in the farm are collected and processed to produce organic microbial fertilizers, serving farming activities, creating a closed cycle from farming to farming.
Mr. Nguyen Van Lich, one of the first people to participate in the 4F pig farming model of Que Lam Group, said he received support from the Group, including providing breeds, animal feed, supervising technical processes and committing to purchase products at prices higher than the market.
