Pepper market this week is forecast to maintain a sideways trend as new crop supply begins to appear. Both farmers and agents are in the mood to hold on to their stocks and limit sales due to expectations that prices will increase in the final months of the year.

In the absence of strong impacts from the world market or weather fluctuations, pepper prices are likely to fluctuate within a narrow range.

The main attraction of the current market comes from the stable export price in the highlands. The average export price in the first 9 months of 2025 reached 6,774 USD/ton, up 37.4% over the same period last year.

In September alone, the export price reached 6,555 USD/ton, recording a slight increase compared to August and 1.5% higher than September 2024.

Although the export output in the first 9 months of the year decreased by 6.3% compared to the same period, reaching only 188 thousand tons, thanks to the sharp increase in selling prices, the export turnover still grew by 28.7%, reaching 1.27 billion USD. This shows the resilience of the Vietnamese pepper market in maintaining export value despite limited supply.
