Ho Chi Minh City supports Nghe An with 7 billion VND to overcome the consequences of storm No. 10

On the afternoon of October 6, at the Military Command of Nghe An province, a delegation from Ho Chi Minh City led by Comrade Bui Thanh Nhan - Member of the Standing Committee of the City Party Committee, Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Ho Chi Minh City, Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City Labor Federation presented 7 billion VND to support Nghe An people to overcome the damage caused by storm No. 10.

On behalf of the working delegation, Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Ho Chi Minh City - Bui Thanh Nhan expressed his emotion when he was in Nghe An to visit and encourage people after the heavy losses caused by storms and floods.

Over the years, Ho Chi Minh City has stood shoulder to shoulder with the people of the Central region in general and Nghe An in particular in natural disasters and floods. Each trip and each support, no matter how small or large, is a clear demonstration of the spirit of “For the whole country, with the whole country” that the City always strives for.

With the special affection of the city named after Uncle Ho for his homeland, during the stormy days, the Party Committee, government and people of Ho Chi Minh City always keep an eye on the Central region, especially Nghe An.

Since the beginning of the year, officials and people of Ho Chi Minh City have donated 3 times to Nghe An to overcome the consequences of natural disasters. The total amount of the 3 times is 15 billion VND. Of which, this time, the amount of support to help Nghe An people overcome the consequences of storm No. 10 is 7 billion VND.

In addition to cash support, during the times Nghe An was affected by natural disasters, Ho Chi Minh City leaders directed departments, branches, sectors and socio-political organizations to implement many practical and direct support activities in Nghe An. Typically, the City Department of Health mobilized medical staff and doctors from many specialized hospitals, organized medical examinations, distributed free medicine, provided instructions on disease prevention and donated medical equipment and necessities to the people.

Other departments, branches and organizations have also accompanied people in repairing houses, supporting livelihoods and awarding scholarships to children.

At the working program, the representative of the Ho Chi Minh City delegation presented 7 billion VND in support to Nghe An province. Of which, 1 billion VND was provided to officers and soldiers of Nghe An province's armed forces whose families were affected by storm No. 10.

The working group also visited Lam Thanh Commune People's Committee and provided house repair support to 10 households (VND 30 million/household), and gave each household a bag of household medicine.

In particular, the working group presented 60 million VND in support to the family of Ms. Trinh Thi Xu (Hung Phuc 1 hamlet, Lam Thanh commune) - a family whose house was completely collapsed after storm No. 10.

Speaking at the reception, comrade Kha Van Tam - Member of the Provincial Party Executive Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee, Chairman of the Nghe An Provincial Labor Federation and representatives of Lam Thanh commune leaders expressed their deep gratitude for the affection and attention of the Party Committee, government and people of Ho Chi Minh City for Nghe An.

Comrade Kha Van Tam also shared more about the heavy damage caused by storms in his home province. At the same time, he acknowledged the sharing of agencies, units, philanthropists and more than 20 volunteer groups from Ho Chi Minh City who directly came to support Nghe An when the province encountered natural disasters.

The Vice Chairman of the Provincial Fatherland Front Committee affirmed that he will promptly allocate support resources to people in affected areas to soon stabilize their lives.
