Gia Lai sends 62 doctors and nurses to support northern flood-hit provinces

The working group, including officers, doctors and nurses from the Provincial Center for Disease Control and grassroots medical centers, brought medicine and medical supplies, and a spirit of sharing and supporting people in flood-affected areas to overcome difficulties.

At the farewell ceremony for the delegation, Chairman of Gia Lai Provincial People's Committee Pham Anh Tuan highly appreciated the proactive, timely and responsible spirit of Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Thi Thanh Lich and the health sector in proposing support plans; and at the same time commended the 62 doctors and medical staff who volunteered to go, demonstrating their volunteer spirit and willingness to contribute to the community.

The Chairman of the Gia Lai Provincial People's Committee emphasized: This trip not only carries the responsibility of a doctor but also serves as a bridge of affection and people-to-people diplomacy between Gia Lai and neighboring provinces in times of trouble - deeply demonstrating the spirit of "helping each other" of our nation. The Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee requested the working delegation to make efforts to complete the assigned tasks well, spreading the beautiful image of dedicated and devoted Gia Lai doctors in the hearts of the neighboring provinces. In particular, the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee reminded the members of the delegation to be cautious, anticipate dangers, and absolutely not sacrifice safety and health to fully complete the support mission.

On behalf of the working delegation, representatives of the doctors and nurses were moved to express their gratitude for the attention and trust of the provincial leaders, and promised to unite and overcome all difficulties to excellently complete the assigned tasks.

Mr. Tran Ky Hau, Director of Quy Nhon Medical Center expressed: “We are fully aware that this is not only a professional task but also a humanitarian mission of a medical practitioner - bringing knowledge, love and responsibility to people in flood-affected areas. The entire delegation promises to be united, disciplined, and closely coordinate with the local health sector to soon restore the environment, prevent and fight epidemics, and help people stabilize their lives. Each doctor in the delegation will be an 'ambassador of kindness', contributing to spreading the beautiful image of the Gia Lai health sector - ready to go anywhere, when people need it.”

According to the plan, the working group will work in Thai Nguyen and Cao Bang from October 11 to 17, coordinating with the local health sector to carry out environmental sanitation, water disinfection, disease prevention and control, medicine distribution and health education after the flood.

In addition to human resources, the delegation brought 600 kg of Chloramin B and 4,000 bags of medicine for households, sponsored by Binh Dinh Pharmaceutical and Medical Equipment Joint Stock Company (Bidifar).

In order to support people in Cao Bang, Lang Son, Bac Ninh and Thai Nguyen provinces to overcome the consequences caused by storm No. 11, Gia Lai province also provided emergency aid of 10 billion VND to four localities that suffered heavy damage from storms and floods.
