PlayStation Project Q price could disappoint

Microsoft's lawyers said that Project Q - the accessory that Sony announced at the PlayStation Showcase to help users stream their games from the PlayStation 5 - will have an expected retail price of under $300. Project Q is expected to come with an 8-inch LCD display with integrated controls, volume buttons, speakers, and an audio jack. It may also feature a low-performance processor and an integrated modem fast enough to receive a 1080p stream from the PlayStation 5. However, with many gamers saying they are not ready to pay over $200 for such a device, it could impact Sony's sales goals. Making things even more difficult for Sony is that Project Q is simply a game streaming device, not a standalone console with its own unique games and features. This frustration was compounded when a report surfaced claiming that Project Q may have been in development since 2015, but ended up being a streaming device eight years later. Many gamers believe that Sony rushed Project Q to compete with devices already on the market, such as Valve's Steam Deck, Asus' ROG Ally, and Logitech's G Cloud. However, Sony's device is not really a competitor to these consoles because of its limited game library.
