This downward adjustment is mainly due to stable supply from the new crop, combined with the lack of major fluctuations in world export prices, causing domestic traders to be cautious in pushing up prices. However, Vietnam's white pepper price remained stable at 9,250 USD/ton compared to the previous session, showing that the high-end segment is less affected by short-term fluctuations.

In the long term (late 2025 and 2026), the pepper price outlook is more positive due to increased global demand from the food and spice industry, combined with limited production in major producing countries due to climate change. The US tariff policy may be clarified after negotiations, reducing pressure on export prices.

With Vietnam’s prices at competitive levels (US$6,700/ton for black pepper), the country has an export advantage if it can control quality well and diversify its markets. Investors should closely monitor Indian weather and US trade moves to adjust their strategies, with average prices forecast to increase by 5-10% by Q4/2025 if risk factors are controlled.

In the short term (September-October 2025), pepper prices may continue to fluctuate slightly with a stable or slightly increasing trend if the weather in India improves, especially when the Navarathri festival season begins from October 2. This event is expected to restore consumption demand in Northern India, helping to push up domestic and export prices.

However, if the floods persist, prices are at risk of falling further as Brazilian supply continues to compete strongly. In Vietnam, domestic prices may maintain current levels or increase slightly if exports to Europe and Asia recover, supported by low global inventories.

This slight decrease is attributed to the balance of supply and demand in the post-harvest period, when the inventory in the population has decreased significantly. Export demand has not increased strongly, mainly coming from traditional markets such as the US and Europe, causing domestic pepper prices to have no motivation to break out. However, domestic pepper prices still remain at a relatively high level compared to the same period last year, due to limited supply and increased production and logistics costs.
