Gold price today June 21: Gold rings decreased by half a million VND/tael

This morning, the price of gold rings was simultaneously adjusted down by 300,000 - 500,000 VND/tael compared to yesterday, while the price of SJC gold bars remained unchanged. The difference between domestic and international gold prices remained at over 8 million VND/tael.

Saigon Jewelry Company (SJC) listed gold bars at 117.4 - 119.4 million VND/tael (buy - sell), this price was maintained stable in both buying and selling compared to yesterday. The difference between buying and selling was 2 million VND/tael.

Similarly, Phu Nhuan Jewelry Company (PNJ), Bao Tin Minh Chau brand and DOJI Group also listed SJC gold bars at 117.4 - 119.4 million VND/tael (buy - sell), this price has not been adjusted compared to yesterday.

For gold rings, DOJI Group listed Hung Thinh Vuong 9999 round gold rings at 114 - 116 million VND/tael (buy - sell); this price was reduced by DOJI by 500,000 VND/tael for both buying and selling compared to yesterday. The difference between buying and selling is 2 million VND/tael.

Saigon Jewelry Company listed gold rings at 113.5 - 116 million VND/tael (buy - sell), this price is kept the same in both buying and selling compared to yesterday. The difference between buying and selling at SJC is 2.5 million VND/tael.

Meanwhile, gold rings at Bao Tin Minh Chau are listed at 114.3 - 117.3 million VND/tael (buy - sell); this price has been adjusted down 300,000 VND/tael in both buying and selling directions compared to yesterday. The difference between the two buying and selling directions is 3 million VND/tael.

World gold price decreased slightly

According to Kitco, the spot gold price this morning was at 3,364.08 USD/ounce, down 3.81 USD/ounce compared to the previous session. Converted according to the exchange rate at Vietcombank (26,282 VND/USD), the world gold price is equivalent to about 111.24 million VND/tael (excluding taxes and fees). Compared to the domestic SJC gold bar price, the difference is still high, about 8.16 million VND/tael.

Despite the downward correction in prices, the fundamentals supporting the gold market are still considered strong. Many central banks around the world continue to buy gold in large volumes, while geopolitical hotspots such as Ukraine and the Middle East show no signs of cooling down. These factors help gold continue to play the role of a safe haven asset in the context of global instability.

According to Ole Hansen, Head of Commodity Strategy at Saxo Bank, gold prices could continue to move sideways, with the nearest support level around $3,320/ounce. If the decline continues, gold prices could fall to $3,245/ounce.
