Previously, at around 8:00 p.m. on October 12, the Son Tra Border Guard Station on duty received a report that two female tourists were lost in the Ghenh Bang area, Son Tra Peninsula (Tho Quang Ward, Son Tra District). The unit coordinated with other forces to search for the two tourists.

At this time, the weather in the search area is light rain, steep and slippery terrain making search and rescue work difficult.

After more than an hour of searching, at about 9:30 p.m. the same day, authorities found two female tourists in the Ghenh Bang area and brought them safely out of the peninsula.

According to Son Tra Border Guard Station, the two female tourists are HTH and CTT (23 years old, residing in Quang Ninh ). Both of them came to the above area to visit but because it was dark and they were unfamiliar with the terrain, they got lost.

Son Tra Peninsula has a complex terrain. Local authorities have posted warning signs for tourists in the dangerous areas of the peninsula, but recently many tourists have ignored the warnings and organized backpacking trips here, leading to getting lost.
