From 3:00 p.m. on May 9, the price of E5 RON92 gasoline decreased by VND1,288/liter; RON95-III gasoline decreased by VND1,411/liter; diesel oil decreased by VND759/liter; kerosene decreased by VND843/liter and mazut oil decreased by VND160/kg.

According to the decision of the Ministry of Industry and Trade - Ministry of Finance, domestic gasoline prices will decrease sharply from 3:00 p.m. today (May 2).
Specifically, E5 RON92 gasoline decreased by 1,288 VND/liter, down to 22,623 VND/liter; RON95-III gasoline decreased by 1,411 VND/liter, the new price is 23,544 VND/liter. At the same time, diesel oil decreased by 759 VND, down to 19,847 VND/liter; kerosene decreased by 843 VND, down to 19,701 VND/liter and mazut oil decreased by 160 VND, down to 17,503 VND/kg.
Thus, in this operating period, all petroleum products have decreased. The current price of E5 RON92 gasoline is 921 VND/liter lower than RON95-III gasoline.
Regarding the price stabilization fund (BOG), the joint ministries decided not to set aside and not to spend the Petroleum Price Stabilization Fund on petroleum products.
A representative of the Vietnam National Petroleum Group (Petrolimex) said that as of the time before the price adjustment, the balance of the price stabilization fund (BOG) at the enterprise was 3,077 billion VND, unchanged from the announcement period last week.
In the most recent adjustment (May 2), E5 RON92 gasoline decreased by VND8/liter; diesel oil decreased by VND110 and kerosene decreased by VND142/liter. However, RON95-III gasoline increased by VND40/liter and fuel oil increased by VND255/kg.
According to Decree No. 80/2023/ND-CP amending and supplementing a number of articles of Decree No. 95/2021/ND-CP dated November 1, 2021 and Decree No. 83/2014/ND-CP dated September 3, 2014 of the Government on petroleum trading, the time for managing petroleum prices will be shortened from 10 days to 7 days, implemented every Thursday.
In case the price management period coincides with a holiday according to regulations, it will be implemented as follows: If Thursday coincides with the first day of the holiday, the petrol price management period will be implemented on the previous Wednesday. If Thursday coincides with the remaining holidays, the petrol price management period will be implemented on the first working day after the holiday./.
