The problem tracking site DownDetector recorded that 203,763 users reported errors related to YouTube, while 4,873 people had problems with YouTube Music and 2,379 people reported YouTube TV errors.

About 54% of the error reports are related to video and music playback, suggesting that YouTube's content delivery system is being severely impacted. On social networks, some users hypothesized that there was a DDoS attack after many "Playback Error" messages appeared when playing videos .
