Intercultural education in the context of integration - a multi-cultural picture

9 co-organizing units

The 5th International Scientific Conference on Culture and Education in 2024 (ICCE 5) includes a plenary session and specialized sessions with 6 sub-committees: general issues on interculturality; education and intercultural categories; intercultural education in university environments; intercultural education in general education environments; interculture and geopolitical issues; interculture with the field of literature and arts.

The ICCE 5 workshop had the participation of 9 co-organizing units; Hanoi Capital University was the host; Hue University of Education was the co-host and 7 member units, including the Economic and Urban Newspaper.

The conference attracted great attention from domestic and international scientists from France, Japan, Thailand... From more than 150 submitted research papers, the conference selected about 100 papers to be published in the proceedings.

In 3 languages ​​(Vietnamese, French, English), the conference focused on topics related to intercultural education in the context of integration. The presentations were on the challenges and opportunities of intercultural education in ASEAN, Vietnam's cultural adaptation in globalization, the role of intercultural education in fields such as arts, languages, etc.

The workshop attracted the attention of domestic and international scientists.

The workshop also addresses intercultural education models, STEAM education and cultural values ​​in general and university education. In addition, speakers will present on Vietnam-France cultural exchange, European-American cultural heritage in the Philippines; the development of intercultural education in universities and communities. The workshop aims to promote international understanding and cooperation, preserve and develop traditional cultural values ​​in the context of global integration.

According to the organizers, the keynote speakers participating in the conference are all world-leading experts in fields related to culture and education, such as: Professor Thai Kim Lan, Professor Jean Noriyuki NISHIYAMA, Dr. Nannaphat Saenghong, Dr. NAKOULMA Mariame Viviane, Dr. PHAN-LABAYS Thi Hoai Trang.

This is a forum for scientists, managers and education experts to share knowledge and experience in intercultural education; promoting national cultural values; and accepting different cultural identities in the world, towards a vision of diverse globalization, interaction, equality and respect between cultures.

Sharing cross-cultural knowledge

Speaking at the opening of the conference, Associate Professor Dr. Do Hong Cuong - President of Hanoi Capital University shared that with the enthusiastic participation and valuable contributions of the delegates, the 5th International Scientific Conference on Culture and Education in 2024 will bring a lot of useful knowledge and experience, contributing to promoting intercultural education in the context of integration. Research issues on culture and education were discussed and expanded to encourage the participation of scholars around the world to jointly build a rich and diverse academic community.

In the introductory report, Associate Professor Dr. Tran Huyen Sam, Hue University of Education, emphasized: in the current trend of globalization, humanity has shifted from confrontation to intercultural dialogue. Interculturalism has the task of opposing the viewpoint of extreme nationalism and the invasive and brutal possessive attitude of totalitarianism. Cultural dialogue will bring about understanding and harmony between cultures.

Coming to the Conference, although from different perspectives and topics, the researchers all came to one common point: intercultural education is an urgent need of every country today in the trend of global integration.
