Proud of 65 years of tradition of construction and development

Delivering a speech at the ceremony, Associate Professor Dr. Do Hong Cuong - Principal of the school reviewed the journey of construction and growth of Hanoi Capital University over the past 65 years.

On behalf of the city leaders, Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee, Chairman of the City People's Council Nguyen Ngoc Tuan; Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee Vu Thu Ha presented a flower basket to congratulate the 65th anniversary of the tradition of Hanoi Capital University.

Accordingly, with the mission of training teachers for the capital after liberation, on January 6, 1959, Hanoi Secondary and Primary Pedagogical School was established. In 1967, the Hanoi City Administrative Committee decided to split into two schools: Hanoi Secondary Pedagogical School and Hanoi Primary Pedagogical School.

1969 - 1970: Hanoi Pedagogical Secondary School was transformed into Hanoi Secondary Pedagogical School (10+3). After a trial period of training college-level teachers, the school affirmed its training capacity, fully meeting the task of training college-level teachers for Hanoi and some neighboring localities.

In 1978, Hanoi 10+3 Pedagogical School was officially recognized as Hanoi Pedagogical College, creating a qualitative leap forward, marking an important milestone in the school's development process.

In 1993, to meet the requirement of raising the standard of primary teachers to college level, Hanoi People's Committee decided to merge Hanoi Pedagogical High School into Hanoi Pedagogical College. On December 31, 2014, Hanoi Pedagogical College was upgraded to Hanoi University, opening up many new development opportunities.

Continuing the tradition of training in pedagogy, promoting internal resources, and seeking external resources, the School has continued to write golden pages in its new position and mission: the mission of training multi-disciplinary and multi-field human resources for the Capital and the country.

With the merger of Soc Son Multidisciplinary Technical and Economic College (2016) and Ha Tay Pedagogical College (2023), Hanoi Capital University now has 4 working facilities with a total area of ​​over 22 hectares, with adequate facilities to implement the goals and strategies of multidisciplinary development, according to the school's application orientation.

By receiving new training facilities, the school has relatively adequate material and technical facilities for training, gradually meeting the requirements of building a modern, multidisciplinary, high-quality university training facility of national and international stature.

Associate Professor Dr. Do Hong Cuong emphasized: Over the past 65 years, Hanoi Capital University has overcome all difficulties and challenges, constantly developing to become a prestigious human resource training institution. Currently, the school has 28 regular university-level majors, 3 master's training programs, and 1 doctoral training program.

In the coming time, as the only public university under the Hanoi People's Committee, Hanoi Capital University will focus on developing its scale and improving its quality by converting 100% of its training programs to applied career-oriented training programs. At the same time, it will develop a variety of training types and training services to meet the needs of learners; strengthen scientific research and carry out community service activities.

With the contributions of generations of cadres and students to the cause of building and defending the Fatherland in the past and the achievements in the cause of innovation, Hanoi Capital University was honored to receive many noble titles and awards from the Party and State.

Speaking at the ceremony, Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee Vu Thu Ha acknowledged, commended and congratulated the achievements that teachers and students of the Capital University have achieved over 65 years of construction and growth; gradually affirming itself as a prestigious educational and training institution of Hanoi, the Capital region and the whole country.

Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee Vu Thu Ha said that the City has issued a Project for the development of Hanoi Capital University until 2030, with a vision to 2045, which sets the goal of developing Hanoi Capital University into a multidisciplinary training institution, continuing to focus on teacher training in an applied direction, providing high-quality human resources, building a center for research on Hanoi culture and people, a prestigious center for research on science and technology, innovation and international cooperation. Hanoi Capital University is ranked highly in the system of Vietnamese universities; participating in the network of regional and international universities.

To successfully carry out the set goals and tasks, Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee Vu Thu Ha suggested that in the coming time, the school should continue to change its awareness, thinking and actions, innovate university governance, develop its staff, lecturers and organizational structure to meet the school's development requirements.

The school improves the quality of teaching staff, who love their jobs, are good at professional expertise, are dynamic and creative to meet the tasks as well as the sustainable development of the school in the period of regional and international integration.

The school needs to focus on effectively implementing the Project for the development of Hanoi Capital University to 2030, with a vision to 2045, which has been approved by the City, linking the school's development with the socio-economic development of the Capital. In particular, it focuses on developing training programs, teaching, fostering, scientific research and technology transfer in accordance with the development requirements and needs of the labor market in all sectors of the economy in general and directly of Hanoi City in particular.

Along with that, the school researches and builds mechanisms and preferential policies to attract social resources to invest in developing education and training, and forms of domestic and international training cooperation; promotes research, transfer, application, development of science, technology, and innovation, following the development trends of the country and the region.
