Northeast monsoon blows, Northern temperature drops sharply

On the morning of November 12, the weather in the North continued to be cloudy and foggy at night and early morning. At the same time, the temperature increased slightly to a maximum of 25-28 degrees Celsius, down about 3 degrees Celsius compared to the previous day.

The National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting said that this afternoon (November 12), a cold air mass will affect the Northeast region, then the Northwest and North Central regions, and then the Central Central region. Northeast wind inland is strong at level 3, coastal areas at level 4-5, gusting at level 6-7.

From tonight, the North and North Central regions will turn cold with the lowest temperature of 16-19 degrees Celsius, in the mountainous areas of the North, some places will be very cold with 13-16 degrees Celsius. In the high mountainous areas, some places will be below 12 degrees Celsius. At the same time, many places will have scattered showers and thunderstorms, locally with moderate to heavy rain.

The meteorological agency warned that thunderstorms accompanied by tornadoes, lightning, hail and strong gusts of wind could affect agricultural production, cause trees to fall, damage houses, traffic works and infrastructure.

People should be on guard against the risk of tornadoes, lightning, hail and strong winds, flash floods on small rivers and streams, and landslides on steep slopes. Heavy rains can also cause flooding in low-lying areas.

From the afternoon of November 12, Bac Bo Gulf has strong northeast wind at level 6, then gradually increasing to level 7, gusting to level 8-9. Waves are 2-4m high, sea is rough.

In the North East Sea area (including the waters of the Hoang Sa archipelago), the Northeast wind is strong at level 6-7, sometimes at level 8, gusting to level 9. Waves are 3-6m high, and the sea is rough. From November 13, the sea area from Quang Tri to Quang Ngai and the north of the central East Sea area has the Northeast wind gradually strengthening to level 6, gusting to level 7-8. Waves are 2-5m high, and the sea is rough.

People should be on guard against strong winds and large waves at sea that could affect boat operations and other activities.
