On the afternoon of October 6, Mr. Nguyen Dinh Du, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Ba Don Ward, Quang Tri Province, confirmed that the locality is clarifying information related to elementary school meals that has caused a stir in public opinion.
According to Mr. Du, the image of the student meal circulating on social media is from Ba Don Primary School No. 1, Ba Don Ward, with a meal portion of 25,000 VND/meal/student.

Ba Don Ward authorities have asked the leaders of Ba Don Primary School No. 1 to report the incident for handling.
Previously, a picture of two trays of rice with the caption "boarding meals for students of Ba Don Primary School No. 1" was circulated. One tray had white rice, about 3 pieces of ham, 1 boiled egg, peanut salt; the other tray had vegetable soup.
The image quickly attracted attention, many people said that such a portion of food was too small compared to the price of 25,000 VND and could hardly ensure nutrition for boarding students.

“Each meal in this tray is only 12,000-15,000 VND. How can the children have enough energy to study if they eat like this? The authorities need to clarify the incident and give justice to the children,” commented Minh Dan.
"Outside restaurants with 25,000 VND have enough dishes, enough to fill you up, but this student's lunch tray is too small, the school needs to reconsider," commented account Le Thanh.
Ba Don Primary School No. 1 has nearly 600 boarding students, with food supplied by a business under contract.
