The announcement cited the Prime Minister 's Official Dispatch No. 188/CD-TTg dated October 6 and the forecast at 2 p.m. the same day, storm Matmo has weakened into a low-pressure area, but the circulation after the storm continues to cause moderate rain, heavy rain, and in some places very heavy rain and thunderstorms in Hanoi from the afternoon of October 6 to the afternoon of October 7.
The Hanoi Department of Education and Training requests school principals and heads of units to proactively decide on appropriate teaching and learning methods (in-person, online or adjusted timetables) based on actual weather conditions in the area, physical facilities and traffic safety conditions; ensuring absolute safety for students, staff, teachers and employees.
Arrange to be on duty and report on rain, flooding, and impacts on teaching activities (if any) to the Department of Education and Training for synthesis and handling according to regulations.
Previously, on the afternoon of October 5, the Hanoi Department of Education and Training requested that units let students take a day off on October 6 (Monday) and switch from in-person teaching to online teaching while continuing to monitor weather developments in the following days to promptly and flexibly handle situations in teaching and learning.
However, on October 6, Hanoi basically did not have heavy rain. The 5 o'clock forecast from the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting said that storm Matmo had entered mainland China and weakened rapidly, Hanoi was not affected by the storm's winds...
Announcement No. 2 issued at 6:30 today, the Hanoi Department of Education and Training requested schools to monitor weather developments to proactively plan teaching. If students go to school, schools must organize management and teaching flexibly to ensure the safety of both teachers and students.
Some schools have announced that students will come to school in person, instead of studying online as previously announced, causing some students and parents to think that this is a passive situation that they cannot handle.
