Help workers settle down

The Trade Union Shelters not only help workers settle down but also spread love and motivate them to stay with their jobs and the trade union organization.

The small house with brick walls and a new corrugated iron roof of the family of Mr. Nguyen Van Tuan, a member of the Trade Union of ASEAN Steel Joint Stock Company, in village 9, Hoa Phu commune, is the greatest achievement that he and his wife have achieved after more than 10 years of working as workers for the company and living on this land. The house is 60 square meters wide, completed after more than 2 months of construction with a total cost of more than 120 million VND. Of which, the trade union supported 50 million VND, the rest was supported by the Trade Union and family and relatives.

The Provincial Labor Federation awarded funding to support house construction for Mr. Tran Van Trung, Dak Lieng commune.

Mr. Tuan shared: “I am the main breadwinner in a family of four, including an elderly mother, young children and an unemployed wife. I have been struggling financially for many years. My income from a worker's salary is just enough to cover daily expenses. Before having this Union Shelter, the rented house was still the place to return to for many years. Although we had a piece of land left by our family, we had no money to build a house, so the whole family had to rent a house. When I was informed that the union would support 50 million VND to build a house, I was so moved that I was speechless. I never thought that one day I would be able to have a truly solid and safe house like this.”

The Trade Union Shelter House of union member Tran Van Trung in Dak Lieng commune is truly a solid place to live for a family of 6. In 2017, Trung was unfortunately cut across the ankle by a lawn mower. Despite timely treatment, over the years, whenever the weather changes, the wound causes him pain and makes it difficult to walk. His wife is also often sick, and their eldest son has a leg disability. The main source of income in the family depends on Trung's job as a security guard at Vanh Khuyen Kindergarten. The life of the family of 6 is extremely difficult.

Looking at the new, spacious house, Mr. Trung expressed his gratitude to the trade union for their care and support, helping his family have a stable place to live. “This home not only helps my family have a decent place to live, but also motivates me to continue to stay and do my job well,” Mr. Trung shared.

The house of Mr. Ha Huy Tan, a member of the Trade Union of the Center for Clean Water and Rural Environmental Sanitation of Krong Bong commune, was also just handed over to the joy of the whole family. Mr. Tan confided: "I am very grateful for the attention and support of the trade union and will try to work and produce to improve my family's life."

The Provincial Federation of Labor awarded funding to support house construction for Mr. Ha Huy Tan.

During this period, many other union members also received funding to build houses from the Union Shelter program, such as Ms. Le Thi Ngoc Bich, Hoa Po Lang Kindergarten, Ea Ktur commune; Phi Thanh Hanh, Hoa Hong Kindergarten, Ea Wer commune; Ms. Ma Phuong Chi, Hoa Huong Duong Kindergarten; Ms. Vu Thi Chu, Hoa Mai Kindergarten, Ea Nuol commune... They are all workers in remote areas, in difficult circumstances, and have never dared to think about building or repairing a house because they still have too many burdens on their shoulders.

According to Vice Chairman of the Provincial Labor Federation Nguyen Phu Lap, in just two months of July and August, the Provincial Labor Federation supported the construction of 15 Trade Union Shelters. This is one of the series of activities to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution (August 19, 1945 - August 19, 2025), the National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam (September 2, 1945 - September 2, 2025) and the 96th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam Trade Union (July 28, 1929 - July 28, 2025). Each Trade Union Shelter is a piece in the social security picture, a place to spread love, connecting union members with the trade union organization. The Trade Union Shelters not only help them stabilize their lives but also clearly demonstrate the role and responsibility of the trade union organization in accompanying and supporting union members to settle down and work with peace of mind.
