Hanoi plans to spend more than 251 billion VND to renovate and rebuild Chu Van An High School.

Recently, the People's Committee of Tay Ho district submitted a proposal to the People's Council of the district on the investment policy for a number of public projects in the area. Particularly in the field of education , the district plans to spend 270 billion VND from the budget to implement 3 projects.

Project 1 , renovating and upgrading Chu Van An High School with a total investment of 251.6 billion VND (from the district and city budgets), aims to strengthen facilities, improve teaching quality, towards international standards, and at the same time preserve architectural heritage.

Hanoi plans to spend more than 251 billion VND to renovate and rebuild Chu Van An High School - 1 — Chu Van An High School (Tay Ho District, Hanoi ).

According to the proposal, Chu Van An High School will build a new two-story auditorium (also a library and conference room), with a total floor area of 1,770 square meters; a gymnasium combined with a 1,600 square meter swimming pool, two buildings, and a four-story dormitory. The total newly built floor area is more than 13,000 square meters.

Tay Ho District People's Committee plans to demolish the old Thang Long Hall, the gymnasium, the council house, the laboratory, the warehouse, and the old garage. The items to be restored and preserved are national monuments, including classrooms A, B, C, D, the administration building, and the dormitory.

Project 2 , purchasing teaching equipment for students in grades 4 and 8 in the district with a total value of nearly 15 billion VND. The purchased equipment includes: televisions, projectors, sound systems, computers, picture sets, videos , models, practice equipment for Math, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Physical Education, Music, Painting... The project will be completed in 2023 - 2024.

Project 3 , purchasing equipment (TV, projector, sound system, computer, picture set, video, model, practice equipment for Math, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Physical Education, Music, Painting...) for teaching students in grades 5 and 9 with a value of more than 13.4 billion VND. The project will be implemented in 2023 - 2024.

These plans are awaiting approval by Tay Ho District People's Council.

Chu Van An High School was established in 1908. During the French colonial period, the school was named Buoi School to express the patriotism of the students at that time. Currently, the school is still located at 10 Thuy Khue Street, next to West Lake and still retains the unique architecture from the French period.
This high school is proud of generations of famous students such as: the late Prime Minister Pham Van Dong, Professor, Doctor Ton That Tung, poet Xuan Dieu, painter To Ngoc Van... and later, many Chu students brought pride to the country with prestigious medals at international and regional Olympic competitions.
