Hang May floating like a fairyland on the Dong Van stone plateau

Tuyen Quang - The Cloud Cave in Dong Van has the shape of a giant lotus bud, leading to a world of stalactites hidden among the magical clouds and mist.

Dong Van Stone Plateau is famous for its sharp, arid, majestic and overlapping mountain ranges. But few people know that there is a magical cave with a very suggestive and poetic name - Hang May.

Hang May was formerly located in Ta Lung commune, Dong Van district, old Ha Giang province, now Dong Van commune, Tuyen Quang province. The cave is located on the road connecting Dong Van district and old Meo Vac district.

Hang May is a fascinating discovery that many people consider a masterpiece of nature. Because it is located on a high and dangerous mountainside, very few people know about it. It was not until 1999, when a road was built right next to the cave mouth, that the local people knew about this precious cave.

The entrance to Hang May is shaped like a giant lotus bud hidden in the mist and clouds. Mr. Ngoc Vu - a freelance photographer from Hanoi , said that the scenery in Hang May in Dong Van is a testament to the wonders of nature.

Inside the Cloud Cave is a world of limestone stalactites appearing in a variety of shapes and sizes, floating and appearing like drifting clouds.

Hang May is both long and wide, inside the cave there is a path “to heaven” and a path down to the “aquarium”. Entering Hang May, visitors will see a natural well at a height of 30m with crystal clear water.

The fairyland was captured by photographer Ngoc Vu during a trip to the Dong Van stone plateau. The thin, magical mist further enhances the mysterious, ghostly beauty of this cave.
