HDBank: The only bank in Vietnam to receive the "green award" from The Asian Banker

Ho Chi Minh City Development Joint Stock Commercial Bank ( HDBank , stock code: HDB) has just made another strong mark on its journey of green and sustainable development with the grand award: "Best Green Financing in Vietnam", presented by The Asian Banker Vietnam Excellence Awards.

The Asian Banker Vietnam Excellence Awards 2024 is one of the most prestigious and rigorous awards programs in the field of finance and banking in Asia. This program recognizes outstanding achievements and innovations in the field of retail finance, green finance, technology and banking services associated with sustainable development goals. As a category in The Asian Banker Awards program system, with the top criteria for evaluation and selection being sustainable finance initiatives, the "Best Green Financing in Vietnam" award was presented to HDBank by The Asian Banker - a globally prestigious organization, recognizing the Bank's efforts and comprehensive development achievements over the past time, especially in the goal of sustainable development with stakeholders. In Vietnam, since 2015, HDBank has been one of the first commercial banks to deploy an environmental and social risk assessment system in credit granting; pioneering in promoting green credit with hundreds of millions of USD in recent years for renewable energy projects, organic agricultural projects in the Mekong Delta, green transformation and environmentally friendly projects across the country. HDBank is also the first bank in Vietnam to pioneer in publishing the Sustainable Development Report in 2024; the first bank in Vietnam to establish an ESG Committee (on Environment, Society and Governance) under the Board of Directors to directly lead and supervise the implementation of sustainable development goals and initiatives.
