HDBank signs $215 million syndicated loan with JICA, FinDev Canada and SMBC

HDBank signed a syndicated loan of 215 million USD with three leading international financial institutions.

Accordingly, HDBank has just signed a syndicated loan worth 215 million USD with three international financial institutions: Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation (SMBC), Canadian Development Finance Institution (FinDev Canada) and Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA).

Mr. Tran Hoai Nam - Deputy General Director of HDBank - represented HDBank to sign a syndicated loan worth 215 million USD with JICA, FinDev Canada and SMBC.

The loan, consisting of three components with terms of three and five years, not only helps to strengthen financial resources for HDBank, but also demonstrates the Bank's commitment to sustainable development goals and international standards on environment, society and governance (ESG).

This capital will be allocated by HDBank to areas that have a positive impact on the community and the economy , including: financing green projects, promoting sustainable agricultural development, supporting small and medium enterprises (SMEs), women-owned businesses, as well as low-income customer groups through social housing credit programs.

This is one of the first co-financings that FinDev Canada has made with JICA and SMBC, and one of the first loans of this organization to the private sector in Vietnam.

Not only is this a pioneering project, it is also one of the largest syndicated loans ever provided by international financial institutions to a joint stock commercial bank in Vietnam, aiming to realize sustainable development goals.

The support of leading partners such as JICA, SMBC and FinDev Canada is a clear demonstration of the international financial community's trust in the capacity, strategic direction and sustainable development philosophy that HDBank steadfastly pursues.
