According to Bloomberg's estimate last May, Tesla CEO Elon Musk is currently the richest person in the world with a net worth of $192 billion, followed by LVMH CEO Bernard Arnault with $187 billion.
Despite being the richest man on the planet with a huge fortune, billionaire Musk does not live in a luxurious place. Instead, he chose a simple two-bedroom house in Boca Chica, Texas (USA) priced at about 50,000 USD.

Writer Walter Isaacson, who is writing a biography of the Tesla CEO that is scheduled to hit bookstores on September 12, recently revealed a corner of Musk’s modest home in a photo posted on social network X (formerly Twitter). The photo has garnered 1.2 million views since it was posted on August 7.
The photo shows the kitchen and part of the living room. There are also rocket-shaped objects and games. A Tesla jacket is hanging on a chair. Musk has been photographed wearing the jacket.
Walter Isaacson said he would explain why Musk sold his mansions in 2020 and moved to a new home near SpaceX’s launch site in Boca Chica, Texas. The home was among several properties SpaceX purchased for employees to facilitate their commute to work.
This isn’t the first time the public has been privy to a small corner of billionaire Musk’s personal life. In 2022, he tweeted a photo of his bedside table with a can of decaf soda and a fake gun.
In 2020, billionaire Musk announced that he would “not own a home.” A few weeks later, five of his homes were put up for sale. Musk sold the last of these in 2021 for $30 million and said he rented a $50,000 home in Texas from SpaceX.
However, The Wall Street Journal reported in July that billionaire Musk is likely in the process of building a home for himself in Texas.
