Hoa Phat proposes steel project for high-speed railway rails in Dung Quat

Hoa Phat Dung Quat Steel Joint Stock Company proposed to invest in a high-quality steel rolling project, focusing on the production of urban railway rail products and high-speed railway rails in Dung Quat Economic Zone (Quang Ngai).

On March 22, the People's Committee of Quang Ngai province announced that Hoa Phat Dung Quat Steel Joint Stock Company proposed to invest in a high-quality steel project to build high-speed railway rails in Dung Quat Economic Zone.

Accordingly, Mr. Tran Phuoc Hien - Vice Chairman of Quang Ngai Provincial People's Committee, Head of the Working Group to support the promotion of progress of large-scale, widespread non-budget investment projects in the province - chaired a meeting to listen to and handle a number of contents related to the investment proposal for high-quality steel projects of Hoa Phat Dung Quat Steel Joint Stock Company.

Up to now, Hoa Phat has invested in two steel production complexes in Dung Quat. Of which, Hoa Phat Dung Quat 1 iron and steel production complex (designed capacity of 6 million tons/year) has been put into operation in 2021; Hoa Phat Dung Quat 2 iron and steel production complex (designed capacity of 5.6 million tons of high-quality hot-rolled steel coil/year) will be put into synchronous operation in 2025.

Along with that, many related satellite projects are also invested by Hoa Phat.

With great advantages from Dung Quat Economic Zone such as deep-water seaport, convenient road and railway traffic, Hoa Phat Dung Quat Steel Joint Stock Company continues to propose investment in a number of projects. Including the high-quality steel rolling project, focusing on the production of urban railway rail products and high-speed railway rails.

Hoa Phat plans to implement this project from 2025 to 2027.

With this railway rail production project, Hoa Phat will need more than 42 hectares to implement phase 1 in 2025.

With the proposal of Hoa Phat Dung Quat Steel Joint Stock Company and the participation of relevant departments, branches, sectors and localities, Mr. Tran Phuoc Hien said that the high-quality steel production project is an important and urgent task to serve key national projects in the spirit of direction of Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh.

Therefore, the province will quickly resolve any problems and issues that arise so that the project can be implemented as quickly as possible.

To promote the project, Mr. Tran Phuoc Hien assigned tasks to each relevant department, branch and locality to focus on handling in accordance with legal regulations, attached to the completion timeline, and reporting implementation results to the Provincial People's Committee.

Propose that Hoa Phat Dung Quat Steel Joint Stock Company develop a detailed schedule for each project investment phase so that the province can proactively handle, guide and support related issues during the project implementation process according to regulations.

On February 9, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh had a working session with Hoa Phat Group at Dung Quat Economic Zone.

The Prime Minister directed Hoa Phat Group to focus on deep processing and production of high-quality steel products to serve domestic demand and export.

Especially serving key national projects, in which priority is given to the production of high-speed rail steel products.
