Support tuition, meals, and travel expenses for island students

Accordingly, Ho Chi Minh City will support tuition fees for preschool children and high school students (including junior high school and high school) studying at public educational institutions in Thanh An island commune, Can Gio district from the 2023-2024 school year to the 2025-2026 school year at the same level as current tuition fees.

From the 2026-2027 school year onwards, the city will support tuition fees for preschool children and high school students studying at public educational institutions in Thanh An island commune, Can Gio district at the same level as tuition fees prescribed by the Ho Chi Minh City People's Council.

In addition to the tuition support policy, the Ho Chi Minh City People's Council also approved a policy to support meals, tuition for two sessions/day, and transportation costs for students on this island commune:

* Support funding for organizing 2 sessions/day of teaching for students residing in Thanh An island commune, Can Gio district, who are studying at public educational institutions in this commune, applied from the 2023-2024 school year:

Primary school level: support of 135,000 VND/student/month. The 2023-2024 school year only applies to 5th grade students, from the 2024-2025 school year onwards, it does not apply to primary school students according to the 2018 General Education Program.
Secondary school: 180,000 VND/student/month.
High school: 280,000 VND/student/month.

The Ho Chi Minh City People's Council also clearly stipulates that in cases where educational institutions charge lower fees for organizing 2 sessions/day of teaching for students than the support level according to this resolution, support will be provided according to the actual collection level of the educational institution.

* Lunch support for preschool children residing in Thanh An island commune, Can Gio district, who are studying at public preschools in this commune, applied from January 1, 2024 with the support level: 160,000 VND/month.

* Support lunch and ferry fees for students residing in Thieng Lieng hamlet, Thanh An island commune, who are studying at public general education institutions including primary, secondary and high schools in Ho Chi Minh City (excluding general education institutions in Thieng Lieng hamlet), applied from January 1, 2024 with the following specific support levels:

Ferry fee: 440,000 VND/student/month
Lunch fee: 550,000 VND/student/month.
The policy of supporting tuition fees, 2 sessions/day study fees, meal fees, and transportation fees is applied for no more than 9 months/school year.
