According to the British Council, the online seminar series "ASEAN TeachingEnglish 2025" takes place from 14-30 October to meet the changing demands of English teaching and learning in Southeast Asia, from the increasing application of artificial intelligence (AI) in education to policy changes. To adapt the content to the regional context, the British Council will coordinate with teachers' associations, universities and ministries in many Southeast Asian countries.
The sessions will cover AI in English language teaching, skills-based learning, education in crisis, and teacher leadership. New to this year’s webinar series are keynote presentations from experts; in-depth discussions focusing on cross-border collaboration and adaptation strategies; demonstrations from real classrooms; and a digital exhibition.
Some of the famous experts participating in the training are Dr. Willy Ardian Renandya from Nanyang Technological University (Singapore); Dr. Andy Curtis from Macau City University (China); Dr. Vu Thi Thanh Nha from the University of Foreign Languages ( Hanoi National University), Professor Ken Hyland from the University of East Anglia (UK)... At the end of each workshop, teachers are also awarded electronic certificates confirming their participation in the program.
How to register to attend the seminar series can be seen HERE .
“As ASEAN countries face social, economic and technological upheavals, English continues to play a key role in regional integration, cross-border mobility and expanding opportunities. By connecting educators across the region, we are not only sharing effective practices but also shaping a more connected future for English language teaching and learning in Southeast Asia,” said Eilidh Hamilton, Director of Cultural Engagement for East Asia.
