Students taking the Foreign Language exam for grade 10 public high schools in Hanoi will be able to register for one of five languages: English, French, German, Japanese, and Korean.
According to the 10th grade high school admission guidelines for the 2025-2026 school year recently issued by the Hanoi Department of Education and Training, Hanoi applies the entrance exam method to enroll students into 10th grade.
To apply for grade 10 of public high schools in Hanoi, students take three exams: Literature (120 minutes), Math (120 minutes) and Foreign Language (60 minutes).
In particular, the Math and Literature exams are in essay format; the Foreign Language exam is in objective multiple choice format. For the Foreign Language exam, candidates register for one of the following languages: English, French, German, Japanese, Korean.
According to the plan approved by the City People's Committee, the 10th grade high school entrance exam for the 2025-2026 school year will take place on June 7 and 8. Candidates wishing to apply to specialized schools will continue to take the specialized subject exam on June 9.
Candidates go to the exam room, complete exam registration procedures, correct any errors in exam registration information (if any) and listen to the announcement of exam regulations and schedule at 9:00 a.m. on June 6.

In the 2025-2026 school year, Hanoi aims to ensure that 100% of junior high school graduates who wish to continue their studies are admitted to high schools, vocational education - continuing education centers and vocational education institutions.
