The Vietnamese Association in the Russian Federation celebrates its 20th anniversary and holds its 4th Congress

The Association of Vietnamese in the Russian Federation recently held a ceremony to celebrate the 20th anniversary of its founding and the 4th Congress, term 2024-2029. Attending the ceremony were Vietnamese Ambassador to the Russian Federation Dang Minh Khoi, representatives of the State Committee for Overseas Vietnamese, and more than 100 delegates and guests.

Reviewing the establishment process and activities over the past 20 years, Mr. Do Xuan Hoang, Chairman of the Vietnamese Association in the Russian Federation, said that the Vietnamese Association in the Russian Federation has had many practical activities to support compatriots, build a united Vietnamese community in the Russian Federation, integrate with the host country, preserve and introduce national identity, turn towards the homeland, contributing to strengthening the friendship between Vietnam and the Russian Federation.

In particular, the Congress decided to change the name to the Union of Vietnamese Organizations in the Russian Federation to suit the characteristics and scale of the Association, facilitate foreign affairs and the current development trend of Vietnamese associations in the European region.

On the occasion of the 20th anniversary of the founding and the 4th Congress of the Association of Vietnamese in the Russian Federation, on behalf of the leaders of the Party, State, and Vietnam Fatherland Front, Mr. Do Van Chien, Politburo member, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Central Committee sent a congratulatory letter to the Association.

In his congratulatory letter, Chairman Do Van Chien acknowledged and highly appreciated the role of the Vietnamese Association in the Russian Federation and expressed his respect for the Association's great contributions. Despite many difficulties, the Association has always upheld the spirit of national solidarity, mutual love and mutual assistance; at the same time, it has carried out many practical activities towards the Fatherland, as well as strengthening solidarity and friendly cooperation between the Vietnamese and Russian peoples.

Believing that the 4th Congress will be an important milestone, opening a new development stage for the Association of Vietnamese in the Russian Federation, Chairman Do Van Chien hopes that the Association will continue to promote its core role in the community, constantly innovate and create to adapt to the new context and contribute more positively to strengthening the traditional friendship between Vietnam and Russia, making a practical contribution to building the homeland and country of Vietnam to become increasingly prosperous, worthy of being an inseparable part of the great national unity bloc.

The Association of Vietnamese in the Russian Federation and two individual members of the Association were honored to receive the Third Class Labor Medal.

On this occasion, the Association of Vietnamese in the Russian Federation was honored to receive the Third Class Labor Medal for its outstanding achievements in consolidating and developing the community and organizing activities towards the homeland. Mr. Do Xuan Hoang, Chairman of the Association and Mr. Tran Phu Thuan, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Association were also awarded the Third Class Labor Medal.

The Congress elected the Standing Committee and Inspection Committee of the Union for the first term, consisting of 45 members. Mr. Do Xuan Hoang was elected as the President of the Union of Vietnamese Organizations in the Russian Federation for the first term, 2024-2029.
