Vietnam Journalists Association receives emulation flag for leading collective in people's foreign affairs

(CLO) On the afternoon of January 6, in Hanoi , the Central External Relations Commission held a conference to review people's foreign affairs work in 2024 and deploy tasks for 2025.

Speaking at the Conference, comrade Le Hoai Trung - Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Head of the Central External Relations Commission said that in 2024, the Central External Relations Commission has strengthened and continued to improve the quality and effectiveness of performing its functions and tasks to assist the Politburo and the Secretariat in leading and directing people's foreign affairs and unified management of people's foreign affairs activities, ensuring close and timely response to political task requirements.

Specifically, regarding research, consultation and appraisal work, the Central External Relations Commission has appraised and advised the Standing Member of the Secretariat and the Secretariat on programs, plans and projects on foreign affairs activities of mass organizations and people's organizations, ensuring proper implementation of Party policies and State laws.

At the same time, based on the Committee's recommendations, the Standing Member of the Secretariat continued to decentralize and authorize the Party delegations of 13 organizations with Party delegations, linked to the responsibilities of the Party delegations and heads of the organizations, contributing to reducing administrative procedures and increasing the initiative of the organizations.

Continue to maintain and improve the quality of the quarterly meeting mechanism with mass organizations and people's organizations with party delegations, periodically publish the People's Foreign Affairs Newsletter on the world and regional situation, and at the same time orient the information and propaganda work of foreign affairs for mass organizations. In particular, in August 2024, representatives of the Vietnam Journalists Association accompanied General Secretary and President To Lam to visit China and signed a Memorandum of Understanding on the "Press and media exchange program between the Vietnam Journalists Association and the China National Journalists Association for the period 2024-2029" in the presence of General Secretary and President To Lam and General Secretary and President of China Xi Jinping. As part of the cooperation agreement between the two sides, the Vietnam Journalists Association sent representatives to attend the "Belt and Road" Program and the event "Exchange activities of the Lancang-Mekong Tourism Cities Cooperation Alliance 2024" in China.

In 2025, HNBVN plans to cooperate with press agencies to continue expanding traditional cooperation, especially cooperation between major domestic press agencies and foreign press agencies. Organize activities for the Association and its levels to expand bilateral and multilateral relations, thereby enhancing foreign relations and improving the quality of foreign affairs of the press.
