Leaders of the Department of Education and Training conducted a surprise inspection at Phan Chu Trinh Primary School.

Deputy Director of the Department of Education and Training Luu Tien Quang and the working group inspected the cooking area, dining room, and documents related to the organization of boarding meals at Phan Chu Trinh Primary School; and worked with school leaders regarding information posted on social networks about school lunches.

Previously, on social networks, there appeared a picture with information that this was a meal for students at the "most famous school in Buon Ma Thuot" - Phan Chu Trinh Primary School. The picture of the meal included rice, stir-fried vegetables, soup, steamed eggs with minced meat, which was considered quite small compared to the price of 37,000 VND that parents paid. Many people suspected that the school "cut" the students' food portions.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Tuyet, Principal of Phan Chu Trinh Primary School, said that the photo of the meal on social media was taken by a medical staff member and posted on the school's Zalo group to "show off" that students praised the meal on September 15 as very delicious. The meal in the photo is the half-eaten meal.

The post claiming that the meal costs 37,000 VND is not true. The school agreed with parents to collect boarding fees of 820,000 VND/student/month (570,000 VND for meals and 250,000 VND for services). With this fee, each lunch ranges from 15,000 - 31,000 VND depending on the food and the mid-session milk ranges from 5,000 - 9,500 VND. The value of the meal on September 15 posted on social media was more than 22,000 VND.

Through a field inspection, Deputy Director of the Department of Education and Training Luu Tien Quang said that the food hygiene and safety work of Phan Chu Trinh Primary School is ensured according to regulations (clear food supply source, kitchen hygiene, food sample storage, nutrition standards...) and there is no basis for the school to cut food for students.

"At the beginning of the school year, the Department of Education and Training issued a document directing security and food safety (boarding work, student meals). In case schools are found to be violating food safety and hygiene, cutting down on meals or not ensuring school hygiene, the department will strictly handle it according to regulations," said Deputy Director of the Department of Education and Training Luu Tien Quang.
