Visiting the high-tech agricultural zone in Ho Chi Minh City, comrade Félix Duarte Ortega, member of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba, President of the Cuban Small Farmers Association, hoped that both sides would work together to create a mechanism for cooperation and technology transfer. "I consider the high-tech agricultural zone in Ho Chi Minh City to have great potential. Over the past years, the Ho Chi Minh City high-tech agricultural zone has attracted many investment projects in high-tech agricultural production in fields such as plant variety production including orchid production, ornamental plants and flowers of all kinds, clean vegetable production, mushroom production, medicinal plants, ornamental fish production such as discus and Koi carp and production of biological products for agriculture...
Sharing about the development of agricultural economy in Cuba, comrade Félix Duarte Ortega said, we often place research institutes in provinces with strong agricultural development. For example, research institutes for cigars, potatoes, pineapples, cocoa... Currently, our country is focusing on innovation and propaganda. In particular, the role of connection between the party, government, research institutes and people is increasingly enhanced.
According to comrade Félix Duarte Ortega, Cuba currently has 53 universities and hundreds of research institutes. With the high determination of scientists and farmers. Although there are no machines, materials, fertilizers... due to the embargo, we will try to master agricultural production to improve the country's situation in the future. "During the Covid-19 period, despite being surrounded by embargoes and lacking production materials, our team of scientists still produced vaccines to support other countries. This is a testament to our efforts," comrade Félix Duarte Ortega affirmed.
