More than 13 years of waiting and the priceless gift of an infertile couple

After more than 13 long years of waiting, the infertile couple Le Ba Thuong and Le Thi Ha have had boundless happiness when welcoming two little angels into their family.

After their wedding in 2010, Mr. Le Ba Thuong (1984) and Ms. Le Thi Ha (1989), from Hung Yen , built a home together and hoped to soon have little angels.

The small family of a resilient and brave couple who spent 13 years searching for their child.

However, three years passed, all efforts did not bring the expected results. Questions from relatives, gossips from neighbors made the couple's desire to become parents even more intense.

Unable to wait any longer, the couple began their journey to find a child. Although they had to travel far, they heard that there was a good traditional medicine doctor and went to see him, but their wish was still not fulfilled.

Disappointed and a little tired, they did not give up and went to the hospital to find a Western medical solution. After many visits, the doctor determined that the cause of infertility was due to Ms. Ha having narrowed fallopian tubes and Mr. Thuong having weak sperm.

Believing in modern medicine, the couple decided to try the IUI fertility treatment, but after two unsuccessful IUIs, they felt lost.

“There are times when I just see other people taking their children out, I wish I could hold them like that. I long to hug them, take care of their meals, their sleep, and hear them babble “Mommy”. I long so much! There are nights when I don’t dare go anywhere, even skipping parties, just wanting to stay home. When I see other people having children, I am happy for them, but my heart is heavy, I cry alone at night,” Ms. Ha emotionally shared.

The journey to find their child was not easy. There were days when they had to wake up early in the morning to catch the bus to the hospital, regardless of the cold or hot weather, the long distance, the couple persevered because their dream never faded.

In 2018, through an acquaintance's introduction, they learned about the Hanoi Andrology and Infertility Hospital. Here, they not only received dedicated advice from doctors but also felt comforted when they were listened to and understood their long journey. After examining and sharing the couple's condition, the doctor advised them to perform in vitro fertilization (IVF). And the miracle came when the doctor announced that Ms. Ha was pregnant.

However, the joy did not last long. At the 9th week of pregnancy, the doctor diagnosed that the baby no longer had a heartbeat. The news came so suddenly that Ha was devastated. The loss was so great that she could not help but grieve, but the couple's life gradually returned to normal after a difficult time.

Many sleepless nights, they still silently nurtured the hope of another embryo transfer and believed in miracles. In 2023, Ms. Ha decided to temporarily stop working to devote herself to her dream of becoming a mother. They returned to the Hanoi Andrology and Infertility Hospital to continue their unfinished journey.

On February 28, 2023, Dr. Pham Van Huong, Deputy Director of the hospital, successfully transferred the embryo. Worried about her previous incomplete pregnancy, Ms. Ha decided to stay near the hospital for convenient monitoring.

And the real joy came. After the beta HCG test, the results brought good news - Ms. Ha was pregnant. Especially, 15 days later, the happiness multiplied when the doctor announced that there were two little angels in her belly.

“I was really happy when I found out I was pregnant with twins. But I was also worried when I entered the 9th week of pregnancy. It was at this time that I had a miscarriage last time. However, this time everything went smoothly and the children were all healthy,” Ha shared.

The entire pregnancy was closely monitored by Dr. Hoang Van Khanh. However, at the 20th week of pregnancy, the doctor discovered that Ms. Ha had signs of cervical prolapse and Y-shaped cervical ossification. Despite treatment, the condition did not improve, and at the 26th week of pregnancy, the doctor decided to perform cervical ossification on Ms. Ha. The surgery was successful, and the mother and three children overcame the challenging period.

Finally, on October 25, 2023, in the family's overwhelming joy, two little angels Le Diep Thao and Le Ba Quang Vinh were born. The two babies were affectionately called Gao and Thoc. The couple's family is now complete and happy.

“Having two children makes things twice or three times harder, but the whole family is always busy and bustling. We are so happy, after 13 years, all of our dreams have come true,” Ha happily shared.

13 years – a journey filled with tears, hopes and long nights of anticipation. Finally, the miracle came when they were able to hold their little angels in their arms.

Now, their little family has embarked on a new journey filled with laughter, love and joy. The priceless gift called “my baby” has helped them regain everything they had lost, and more than that, it is a sweet happiness that cannot be measured.
